The 1982 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship, FIVB Women's World Championship was the ninth edition of the tournament, organised by the world's governing body, the FIVB. It was held from 12 to 25 September 1982 at six venues in six different cities in Peru. The finals were held at the Coliseo Amauta in Lima, Peru. Cao Huiying
Cao Huiying (, born 1954 in Luannan County) is a Chinese former volleyball player. She was a member of the Chinese national team that won gold at both the 1981 FIVB Women's World Cup and the 1982 FIVB Women's World Championship. She also won a gold medal at the 1982 Asian Games, after which she retired. She was Team China's first ever captain. She played for China with tuberculosis, a knee injury, and only seven healthy fingers. Denisse Fajardo García (born 1 July 1964, in Lima) is a retired Peruvian volleyball player and a three-time Olympian for her native country. She won the silver medal at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, after playing the Soviet Union in the final. Yuan Weimin
Yuan Weimin (; born July 8, 1939 in Suzhou, Jiangsu) is a Chinese sports administrator and civil servant. He was the Executive President of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2008 Summer Olympics. Player career Yuan was selected to represent the Jiangsu province in the volleyball completion for the first National Games in 1958 while studying for the Nanjing Sport Institute. In 1962, he joined the national volleyball team. Cultural Revolution hit when he was at his peak. While he was not persecuted because of his peasant background was considered politically reliable at the time, his team members were sent home. Yuan spent much of the time studying volleyball coaching, without a team to coach. Yuan retired as a player in 1974 from the position of national team captain. Zhang Rongfang (; born April 15, 1957) is a Chinese retired volleyball player and coach who competed in the 1984 Summer Olympics. She was a member of the Chinese volleyball team which won the gold medal, having played in all five matches. Career Lang was a member of the Chinese national team that won gold over the United States at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, California. Chen Zhaodi
Chen Zhaodi (; 15 April 1955 – 1 April 2013) was a Chinese volleyball player, coach, and military general. She was a key member of the China women's national volleyball team, Chinese national team that won the 1981 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Cup and the 1982 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship. After retiring as a player in 1983, she served as assistant coach and later team manager for the national team, and as head coach for the national women's junior team. She later became Director of the Culture and Sports Bureau of the People's Liberation Army General Political Department and was awarded the rank of major general, making her the only Chinese sportsperson to become a military general. Chen Yaqiong (, born 1956 in Yongchun County) is a Chinese former volleyball player. She was a member of the Chinese national team that won gold at both the 1981 FIVB Women's World Cup and the 1982 FIVB Women's World Championship.
