1982 Buffalo Bills Season
The 1982 Buffalo Bills season was the franchise's 13th season in the National Football League, and the 23rd overall. Due to the 1982 NFL strike, the season was shortened to only nine games; the Bills' 4–5 record left them in the 9th spot in the AFC, therefore eliminating the Bills from the playoffs in the 16-team tournament format. The Bills led the league in rushing in 1982, with 1,371 yards (152.3 per game) on the ground. Offseason NFL Draft Linebacker Eugene Marve played linebacker for Buffalo for six seasons. Matt Kofler
Mathew Joseph Kofler (August 30, 1959 – December 19, 2008) was an American professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League (NFL) from 1982 to 1985. He played for the Buffalo Bills and the Indianapolis Colts. He was appointed head coach at San Diego Mesa College in 2006. Early years Kofler played high school football for Patrick Henry High School in San Diego. Kofler was first-team All-American quarterback for Mesa College. He led all community colleges in the nation in total offense and was named California Player of the Year. In 1980, he transferred to San Diego State on a football scholarship to continue his career. Fairmont State University is a public university in Fairmont, West Virginia. History Fairmont State University’s roots reach back to the formation of public education in the state of West Virginia. The first private normal school in West Virginia was established to train teachers in Fairmont in 1865 by John N. Boyd, the school’s first principal. Luc Tousignant (; born July 4, 1958) is a former quarterback in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and Olympic handball player. He competed in three matches at the 1976 Summer Olympics with the Canadian handball team, which finished eleventh in the Olympic tournament. Tousignant attended Fairmont State University from 1978 to 1981, and played in the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. He was a second-team All-America honouree, the WVIAC's offensive player of the year, and a first-team all-league selection in 1981, when he led the Falcons to the conference title, a 9-2 overall record, and a berth in the NAIA Playoffs. His 4,737 passing yards and 30 career touchdown passes were school records which stood for 14 years. The Syracuse Orange football team represents Syracuse University in the sport of American football. Placekicker, or simply kicker (PK or K), is the player in gridiron football who is responsible for the kicking duties of field goals and extra points. In many cases, the placekicker also serves as the team's kickoff specialist or punter. Specialized role The kicker initially was not a specialized role. The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver.
