1981–82 S.L. Benfica Season
The 1981–82 season was Sport Lisboa e Benfica's 78th season in existence and the club's 48th consecutive season in the top flight of Portuguese football, covering the period from 1 July 1981 to 30 June 1982. Benfica competed domestically in the Primeira Divisão, Taça de Portugal and the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira, and participated in the European Cup after winning the previous league. The Estádio Nacional (English: National Stadium), also known as National Stadium Sports Complex ( pt, Complexo Desportivo do Estádio Nacional) and as ''Jamor Sports Complex'' ( pt, Complexo Desportivo do Jamor), is a national football stadium used by the Portugal national team and by Belenenses SAD since 2018. Fernando Mendes Soares Gomes (22 November 1956 – 26 November 2022) was a Portuguese professional footballer who played as a striker. António José da Conceição Oliveira (born 14 October 1946), known as Toni (), is a Portuguese former footballer who played as a midfielder, and a coach. A Portugal international on more than 30 occasions, his career was mainly associated with Benfica.
