A film also called a movie, motion picture, moving picture, picture, photoplay or (slang) flick is a work of visual art that simulates experiences and otherwise communicates ideas, stories, perceptions, feelings, beauty, or atmosphere through the use of moving images. Yehuda Barkan
Yehuda Barkan ( he, יהודה בארקן; 29 March 1945 – 23 October 2020) was an Israeli actor, film producer, film director, and screenwriter. He was noted for his appearance in Israeli comedy cult classics of the 1970s, and for producing and directing candid camera "prank films" in the 1980s. Biography Yehuda Ezekiel Berkowitz (later Barkan) was born in Netanya. His father was born in Poland while his mother was born in Czechoslovakia. His parents spoke Yiddish. He studied at the Bialik and ORT schools in Netanya. During his military service in the IDF, Barkan served in a Combat Engineering Corps unit and the Northern Command Military band. From his first marriage, Barkan had four children. At the beginning of the 2000s, Barkan became a baal teshuva and moved to the religious moshav Beit Gamliel with his family. In November 2008 Barkan was questioned by the Israeli Tax Authority on suspicion of tax evasion. Barkan died on October 23, 2020, after contracting COVID-1 ... Avi Nesher
Avi Nesher ( Hebrew: אבי נשר; born 13 December 1952) is an Israeli film producer, film director, screenwriter and actor. Biography Avi Nesher was born and raised in Ramat Gan, Israel. The child of a Romanian-born diplomat, and a mother who came from Russia. In 1965, he moved with his family to the United States. He graduated from high school at sixteen and studied international relations at Columbia University. In 1971 he returned to Israel. Nesher enlisted into the IDF elite special forces unit Sayeret Matkal, but after a year was reassigned as an intelligence analyst. Film career In 1978, Nesher directed and produced his first film, ''HaLahaka'' (Hebrew: "הלהקה", lit. ''The Band''), which depicted an army entertainment troupe similar to the Nahal troupe (להקת הנח"ל). Gavri Banai
Gavari, also spelt Gavri, is a 40-day long festival celebrated in July and September of each year in the Mewar region of Rajasthan, India. The Gavari season Each year, ''bhopa'' shamans from Mewar's Bhil communities petition the Goddess to permit their villagers to perform the Gavari ritual and to accompany them for the weeks of touring. The average wait time for her consent is about 4–5 years, and once the ritual cycle begins, she must also be successfully invoked before each daily ceremony. Only when she visibly possesses one or more troupe members can the dance dramas begin and the ritual proceed. Each of the 25-25 participating communities forms and dispatches its own Gavari company of 20-80 members. The troupes crisscross Mewar performing more than 600 day-long village ceremonies in all. Moshe Ivgy ( he, משה איבגי; born 29 November 1953) is an Israeli actor and director. Biography Moshe Ivgy was born in Casablanca, Morocco, to a Moroccan Jewish family. He was married to actress Irit Sheleg. Their daughter Dana Ivgy is also an actress. After divorcing Irit, he married Oreet, with whom he has two children, Ella and Lily. Ivgy experimented with Scientology and spent some six months studying its teachings. He abandoned it, stating "it is an insane business... Alon Moni Abutbul (or Aboutboul, he, אלון מוני אבוטבול; born 28 May 1965) is an Israeli actor. He won the IFFI Best Actor Award (Male) at the 44th International Film Festival of India. Early life Abutbul was born in Kiryat Ata, Israel, to a Mizrahi Jewish family from Egypt and Algeria. He attended the Thelma Yellin High School of Arts in Givatayim. Ze'ev Nachum Revach ( he, זאב רווח; born 15 August 1940) is an Israeli comedian, film and theatre actor, and filmmaker. He has been one of the stars of the Israeli film genre known as Bourekas films.
