The Republican Party of India (RPI, often called the Republican Party or simply Republican) is a political party in India. It has its roots in the Scheduled Castes Federation led by B. R. Ambedkar. The 'Training School for Entrance to Politics' was established by Ambedkar in 1956 which was to serve as an entry point to the Republican Party of India (RPI). The first batch of the school consisted of 15 students. Its first batch turned out to be last batch as the school was closed after Ambedkar's death in 1956. All India Muslim Majlis( ur, آل انڈیا مسلم مجلس) is a Muslim political party in India based in Uttar Pradesh. History Muslim Majlis was founded by Abdul Jaleel Faridi in 1968, after he had become disillusioned with the Samyukt Vidhayak Dal. In 1977 two Muslim Majlis members were elected to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly on the Janata Party symbol. Following the death of Faridi the influence of the party declined. Sikkim Janata Parishad or SJP (Sikkim Popular Association) was a political party in the Indian state of Sikkim led by N.B. Bhandari. SJP won the state assembly elections 1979, when it got 22,776 votes (31,49%) and won 17 seats (had candidates in 31 out of total of 32). Bhandari became the Chief Minister. Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party ( MGP) was Goa's first ruling party after the end of Portuguese rule in Goa in 1961. In the first elections held after the Annexation of Goa by India, it ascended to power in December 1963 and stayed in power till being ousted from power by defections in early 1979. The party has its base amongst non-Brahmin Hindu migrants from Maharashtra and their descendants, a group that made up a large section of the poorer residents in Goa during Portuguese rule in Goa and whose numbers increased after 1961 by mass immigration from Maharashtra at the invitation of MGP politicians.
