1980 Stinkers Bad Movie Awards
The 3rd Stinkers Bad Movie Awards were released by the Hastings Bad Cinema Society in 1981 to honour the worst films the film industry had to offer in 1980. The ballot was later revisited and the expanded version was released in 2006. Stinkers Bad Movie Awards
The Stinkers Bad Movie Awards (formerly known as the ''Hastings Bad Cinema Society'') was a Los Angeles-based group of film buffs and film critics devoted to honoring the worst films of the year. The society was founded by Mike Lancaster and Ray Wright, two former ushers who met in the late 1970s at what is now the Pacific Hastings Theater in Pasadena, California (from which the society originally got its name). ''The Stinkers Bad Movie Awards'' have been featured in ''Entertainment Weekly'', ''USA Today'', ''Los Angeles Times'', and on the BBC, CNN, as well as in several newspapers and magazines. ''Oh, God! Book II'' is a 1980 American comedy film and a sequel to the film '' Oh, God!'' (1977). It was directed by Gilbert Cates, and stars George Burns, Suzanne Pleshette, David Birney and Louanne Sirota. Joyce Brothers and Hugh Downs also made cameo appearances in the film. ''Oh, God! ''The Nude Bomb'' (also known as ''The Return of Maxwell Smart'') is a 1980 American spy comedy film based on the 1965-70 television series ''Get Smart''. It stars Don Adams as Maxwell Smart, Agent 86, and was directed by Clive Donner. It was retitled ''The Return of Maxwell Smart'' for television. Co-creators Mel Brooks and Buck Henry notably had no involvement in the making of the film. Furthermore, Adams and Robert Karvelas (as Larrabee) were the only original cast members of the TV series to reprise their roles for the film. Dana Elcar portrays the Chief in ''The Nude Bomb'' due to the death of Edward Platt, the original Chief, in 1974. Eugene Roche was originally cast as the Chief in this film, but was replaced by Elcar due to illness. ''The Hunter'' is a 1980 American biographical action thriller film directed by Buzz Kulik and starring Steve McQueen.
