1980 European Cup Winners' Cup Final
The 1980 European Cup Winners' Cup Final was a football match contested on 14 May 1980 between Valencia of Spain and Arsenal of England. The final was held at Heysel Stadium in Brussels, Belgium. Valencia won the match 5–4 on penalties. It was the 20th European Cup Winners' Cup final and the only time that the winner was decided by a penalty shoot-out. It was Valencia's third major European title after their two Inter-Cities Fairs Cup victories in the 1960s. 1979–80 European Cup Winners' Cup
The 1979–80 season was the 20th season of the European Cup Winners' Cup, a football tournament organised by UEFA for the cup winners from each of its member associations. The competition was won by Spanish club Valencia, who beat Arsenal of England on penalties after a goalless final at the Heysel Stadium in Brussels, Belgium. It was the only Cup Winners' Cup to be decided on penalties (although two previous finals had required replays). It was Valencia's third European title, adding to the two Inter-Cities Fairs Cup titles they won in the 1960s. Boldklubben 1903 or B 1903 is a association football, football club founded on 2 June 1903, located in Copenhagen, Denmark. Rainer Bonhof
Rainer Bonhof (born 29 March 1952) is a German former professional footballer, who played as a defensive midfielder or wing-back. He was known for his occasional bursts upfield and his fierce shot. He was a key player for the 1974 West Germany national team that won the World Cup (defeating the Netherlands 2–1 in the final, where he provided the assist to the winning goal). Bonhof was one of the stars for his club side, Borussia Mönchengladbach and won numerous domestic league and cup titles. Playing career Bonhof was born in Emmerich am Rhein, North Rhine-Westphalia. Pablo Rodríguez Flores (born 8 March 1955) is a Spanish retired professional footballer who played as a left winger. Club career Born in Turón (Mieres), Asturias, Rodríguez arrived at Valencia CF from local giants Sporting de Gijón, going on to compete several seasons with the reserves. He made his debut with the first team on 8 April 1978 in a 7–0 home rout of Rayo Vallecano, but would only appear in a combined ten La Liga games in his first two seasons. Daniel Solsona Puig (born 18 January 1952) is a Spanish former professional footballer who played as a midfielder. Club career Born in Cornellà de Llobregat, Barcelona, Catalonia, Solsona played in 373 La Liga games over 13 seasons in which he represented RCD Español and Valencia CF, scoring 65 goals in the process. Mario Alberto Kempes Chiodi (; born 15 July 1954) is an Argentine former professional footballer who played as a striker or attacking midfielder. A prolific goalscorer, he finished as La Liga's top goalscorer twice with Valencia and amassed 116 goals in 184 league games for the club.
