1980 AFC Asian Cup
The 1980 AFC Asian Cup was the 7th edition of the men's AFC Asian Cup, a quadrennial international football tournament organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The finals were hosted by Kuwait between 15 and 30 September 1980. The field of ten teams was split into two groups of five. Kuwait won their first championship, beating South Korea in the final 3–0. Cai Jinbiao (; born 1954) is a former Chinese international footballer who played as a defender. He represented Guangdong FC where he won the 1979 Chinese league title as well as playing for the Chinese national football team in the 1980 Asian Cup. Playing career At an early age Cai Jinbiao would be accepted in a specialist sports school within Xingning, Guangdong before he started his career playing for the Guangdong youth team where he would soon be promoted to the senior team in 1974. The Bayi or August First Football Team () or its full name the People's Liberation Army Bayi Football Club () was a football team under the sport branch of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) that played in China's football league system between 1951 and 2003. Li Fusheng (; January 4, 1953 – December 2, 2007) was a Chinese international football goalkeeper. He represented Chengdu Military Football Team and Bayi Football Team at club level while also having a long association representing China at international level where he made 119 appearances making him China's highest capped goalkeeper. Ashraf Uddin Ahmed Chunnu played for the Bangladesh national football team for 10 years between 1975 and 1985. The left-winger represented Bangladesh in 50 international matches in which he scored 17 official goals during his 10-year long national career. Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited Dhaka, founded in 1936 at Dhaka, is one of the oldest and one of the most popular football clubs in Bangladesh, with a support base in all parts of the country.
