1977 Minnesota Vikings Season
The 1977 season was the Minnesota Vikings' 17th in the National Football League. After starting the season 5–3, the team's starting quarterback Fran Tarkenton broke his leg in week 9 and missed the rest of the season. Despite losing Tarkenton, the team managed to finish the season with a 9–5 record and went to the playoffs as winners of the NFC Central division title. The National Football Conference – Northern Division or NFC North is one of the four divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. 1977 Seattle Seahawks Season
The 1977 Seattle Seahawks season was the team's second campaign in the National Football League (NFL). The 1977 season was the team's first in the AFC West (the conference swap was part of the NFL's expansion plan that saw both the Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers play every other team in the NFL in their first two seasons; the Seahawks would return to the NFC West in 2002). The Seahawks lost five of their first six games. On October 30, the Seahawks earned their second win of the season when quarterback Jim Zorn returned from an injury and threw four touchdown passes in a 56–17 win over the Buffalo Bills at the Kingdome. Tommy Hannon
Thomas Edward Hannon (born March 5, 1955) is a former American football player. He played professionally as a safety for nine seasons in the National Football League (NFL) with the Minnesota Vikings. He was a starter in 103 of the 117 games he played for the Vikings, including every non-strike game in his last six NFL seasons. Hannon had 15 interceptions in his NFL career. An interception was perhaps the top highlight of his career; he ran a first quarter interception back 41 yards for his only NFL touchdown in a 34–14 Vikings victory over the Chicago Bears in 1980.
