1973 NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship
The 1973 NCAA Division I soccer tournament was the 15th annual tournament organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association to determine the national champion of men's college soccer among its Division I members in the United States. Beginning with this season, the NCAA changed its classification system, and the former ''University Division'' was rebranded as Division I. The final match was played at the Miami Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida on January 4. Saint Louis won their tenth national title, and second consecutive, by defeating UCLA in the championship game, 2–1 after one overtime period. Miami Orange Bowl
The Miami Orange Bowl was an outdoor athletic stadium in Miami, Florida from 1937 until 2008. The stadium was located in the Little Havana neighborhood west of Greater Downtown Miami, Downtown Miami. The SIU Edwardsville Cougars men's soccer team represents Southern Illinois University Edwardsville (SIUE) in the Missouri Valley Conference of NCAA Division I soccer. The Bowling Green Falcons men's soccer team is the National Collegiate Athletic Association NCAA Division I intercollegiate college soccer team of Bowling Green State University located in Bowling Green, Ohio. The Penn State Nittany Lions men's soccer team is an intercollegiate varsity sports team of Pennsylvania State University. The team is a member of the Big Ten Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The West Virginia Mountaineers men's soccer team is the National Collegiate Athletic Association Division I soccer team of West Virginia University (WVU). Beginning with the 2012 season, the team was an affiliate member of the Mid-American Conference because WVU is the only school in its primary conference, the Big 12 Conference, that has a varsity men's soccer team. The LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds were the athletic teams representing Long Island University's campus in Brooklyn, New York in intercollegiate athletics, including men's and women's basketball, cross country, golf, soccer, and track; women's-only bowling, lacrosse, softball, tennis, and volleyball; and men's-only baseball.
