Copa Libertadores
The CONMEBOL Libertadores, also known as the Copa Libertadores de América ( pt, Copa Libertadores da América), is an annual international club football competition organized by CONMEBOL since 1960. It is the highest level of competition in South American club football. The tournament is named after the ''Libertadores'' (Spanish and Portuguese for ''liberators''), the leaders of the Latin American wars of independence, so a literal translation of its former name into English is "''America's Liberators Cup''". The competition has had several formats over its lifetime. Initially, only the champions of the South American leagues participated. In 1966, the runners-up of the South American leagues began to join. In 1998, Mexican teams were invited to compete and contested regularly from 2000 until 2016. Robert Maaskant
Robert Patrick Maaskant (; born 10 January 1969) is a Dutch former professional footballer and current manager, who played as a midfielder. Club career Maaskant played for Go Ahead Eagles, Emmen, Motherwell, Zwolle and Excelsior. Managerial career A former assistant at Go Ahead Eagles and Zwolle, Maaskant was named head coach of RBC Roosendaal for the 1999–2000 season. He worked there for three years, before joining Go Ahead Eagles. Maaskant worked in Deventer for seven months, came back to Roosendaal, and then moved on to Willem II in the summer of 2004. He was sacked on 21 November 2005 and replaced by Kees Zwamborn. On 4 January 2006, Maaskant was re-instated as the manager of RBC Roosendaal, as the successor of Dolf Roks. Kees Van Wonderen
Cornelis "Kees" Hendricus van Wonderen (; born 4 January 1969) is a Dutch professional football manager and former player, who is the current head coach of Eredivisie club Heerenveen. During his playing career, he was mostly utilised as a centre back. Playing career Club Van Wonderen was born in Bergen, North Holland, and played professional football for NEC Nijmegen, NAC Breda and Feyenoord Rotterdam. While at Feyenoord, Van Wonderen won the Eredivisie in 1999 and the 2001–02 UEFA Cup, as the club beat Borussia Dortmund 3–2 in the final at De Kuip. Club Guaraní is a Paraguayan football team, based in the neighbourhood of Pinozá in outer Asunción. Founded on 12 October 1903, it is one of the oldest and one of the most successful in the country, with eleven Primera División titles, and has never been relegated to a lower division. 1969 North American Soccer League Season
The 1969 North American Soccer League season was the second season of the North American Soccer League, the top division in US soccer in 1969. Five teams competed in the league's 2nd season. The season was divided into two parts; the International Cup and the regular season. The Kansas City Spurs won the International Cup. The Kansas City Spurs also won the NASL championship by finishing at the top of the table in the regular season. For the second straight year the team with the best winning percentage (Atlanta) did not win the premiership due to the NASL's points system.
