French Television
Television in France was introduced in 1931, Timeline of the introduction of television in countries, when the first experimental broadcasts began. Colour television was introduced in October 1967 on France 2, La Deuxième Chaîne. Digital terrestrial television The digital terrestrial television platform was launched on 31 March 2005 after a short testing period. Like Freeview (UK), Freeview in the UK, it provides many new channels, as well as the current terrestrial television stations. Like the rest of Europe, France uses the DVB-T transmission technology. The 13 first digital free channels were launched on 31 March 2005. In October, 4 additional free channels were added: the 24h news channels BFM TV and I-Télé, the music and entertainment youth channel Europe 2 TV, and the free children channel Gulli, joint-venture between Lagardère Active and France Télévisions. ''Dim Dam Dom'' is a French television show that aired for female audiences on ORTF from March 21, 1965 to March 3, 1971. The show was created by ''Elle'' chief editor Daisy de Galard. Premise Each episode of ''Dim Dam Dom'' was hosted every Sunday by a different television host each week , usually a popular actress or singer. Where they would discuss the latest fashion and music trends. The television show was considered revolutionary and trendy for its time. Claudy Siar
Claudy () is a village and townland (of 1,154 acres) in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. It lies in the Faughan Valley, southeast of Derry, where the River Glenrandal joins the River Faughan. It is situated in the civil parish of Cumber Upper and the historic barony of Tirkeeran. It is also part of Derry and Strabane district. Claudy had a population of 1,336 people in the 2011 census. It has two primary schools, two churches and a college named St Patrick's and St. Brigid's College. History During the Troubles in Northern Ireland, 13 people were killed in or near the village of Claudy. Nine of these people all civilians, including a nine-year-old child, were killed in the Claudy bombing of 31 July 1972, in which three suspected Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA) car bombs exploded almost simultaneously in Main Street. Anthony Kavanagh
Anthony Kavanagh (born September 26, 1969) is a Canadian stand up comedian, actor, singer and TV presenter. After a successful career on the francophone stand-up scene in Quebec, he became a major star in France and is now a popular television host. Early life Anthony Kavanagh was born to Haitian parents on September 26, 1969. He made his stage début in a high school talent show at the age of 14. In 1989, he won the Best New Comic Award of the Juste pour rire Festival ("Just for Laughs") in Montreal. This award propelled him onto the Quebec show business scene. Kavanagh charmed English and French speaking audiences alike. In 1992, Kavanagh opened for touring artists such as Julio Iglesias and Natalie Cole and spent two years as Céline Dion's opening act across Canada, in French and in English. Nikos Aliagas ( el, Νικόλαος "Νίκος" Αλιάγας, ''Nikólaos "Níkos" Aliágas''; born 13 May 1969) is a Greek-French journalist and entertainer, known for being the host of the French reality program ''Star Academy''. It has now become the customary French title of respect and term of address for a French-speaking man, corresponding to such English titles as Mr. or sir.
