1966 European Indoor Games
The 1966 European Indoor Games were the first edition of what later became the European Athletics Indoor Championships. These games took place on 27 March 1966 at Westfalenhalle, Dortmund, a city of West Germany. It was the only edition held on a single day – since 1967 the duration was extended to two days and since 1992 to three. The track used for the championships was 160 metres long. Henrik Kalocsai (; 28 November 1940 – 22 May 2012) was a Hungary, Hungarian athlete who specialized in the triple jump and long jump. He won the gold medal at the 1965 Summer Universiade, the bronze medal at the 1966 European Championships in Athletics, 1966 European Championships and the silver medal at the 1967 European Indoor Games. Martin Jensen (3 January 1942 – 12 February 2016) was a Norwegian triple jumper. He hailed from Askøy and represented the local sports club Ask IL, later TIF Viking in Bergen, IL i BUL and IK Tjalve in Oslo. He competed at the 1966 European Indoor Games and the 1966 European Athletics Championships without reaching the final. Domestically, Jensen became Norwegian champion in 1961, 1964, 1965, 1966 and 1969. His personal best jump was 16.27 metres, achieved in 1965. He was a Norwegian record holder, being the first in that country to break the 16-metre barrier.
