The 1965 Trophées de France season was the second season of the Trophées de France Formula 2 championship. The season was dominated by Jim Clark, winning three out of the four events, driving a Lotus 35-Cosworth for Ron Harris Team Lotus. Jochen Rindt in a Roy Winkelmann Brabham BT16-Cosworth was the only other race winner, narrowly beating Frank Gardner's Lola T60 to the flag in the Reims Grand Prix in a race where only six-tenths of a second covered the top four finishers. The Circuit d'Albi is a motorsport race track located in the French town of Le Sequestre near Albi, about northeast of Toulouse. Brabham BT10
The Brabham BT10 was a Formula 2 racing car designed by Ron Tauranac and powered by a Cosworth 109E engine. Motor Racing Developments ran the BT10 in Formula Two, The 'BT10' campaigned fairly successfully in F2, taking several wins. The car was also entered for two Formula One races, John Willment Automobiles entered a BT10 at the 1964 British Grand Prix for Frank Gardner to drive but retired when he had an accident. The BT10 final F1 race was the 1965 South African Grand Prix on New Year's Day. Two BT10s were entered, David Prophet entered himself to drive and John Willment Automobiles entered Paul Hawkins. Michael Geoffrey Beckwith (born 15 March 1935) is a British former racing driver from England who competed in various classes in the 1960s and 1970s including non-championship Formula One and the Le Mans 24-hour race. Early life Beckwith was born in Hendon, North London. Career Early years (1962–1965) Beckwith began his racing career in 1961, competing in two races with a Lotus 11. Jackie Stewart
Sir John Young Stewart (born 11 June 1939), known as Jackie Stewart, is a British former Formula One racing driver from Scotland. Denis Clive Hulme (18 June 1936 – 4 October 1992), commonly known as Denny Hulme, was a New Zealand racing driver who won the Formula One World Drivers' Championship for the Brabham team. Between his debut at Monaco in 1965 and his final race in the 1974 US Grand Prix, he started 112 Grand Prix, resulting eight victories and 33 trips to the podium. Alan Rees (racing Driver)
Alan Brinley Rees (born 12 January 1938 in Langstone, Newport, Monmouthshire) is a British former racing driver from Wales. He participated in three World Championship Grands Prix in the 1960s, although two of those appearances were driving Formula 2 cars. He scored no championship points. His best result was seventh place (second in the Formula Two class) in the 1967 German Grand Prix. John Coombs
John Coombs (1 February 1922 – 3 August 2013) was a British racing driver and racing team owner. After a driving career in various formulae, including a win in a minor Formula One race, he became a team owner in sports car racing and Formula Two. During the 1960s and 1970s, working closely with Tyrrell Racing, he ran cars for several top drivers of the time, including Jackie Stewart, Graham Hill and Jack Brabham. Norman Graham Hill (15 February 1929 – 29 November 1975) was a British racing driver and team owner, who was the Formula One World Champion twice, winning in and as well as being runner up on three occasions (1963, 1964 and 1965). Richard James David "Dickie" Attwood (born 4 April 1940, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire) is a British motor racing driver, from England. During his career he raced for the BRM, Lotus and Cooper Formula One teams. He competed in 17 World Championship Grands Prix, achieved one podium and scored a total of 11 championship points. Cooper Car Company
The Cooper Car Company is a British car manufacturer founded in December 1947 by Charles Cooper and his son John Cooper. Together with John's boyhood friend, Eric Brandon, they began by building racing cars in Charles's small garage in Surbiton, Surrey, England, in 1946. Tyrrell Racing
The Tyrrell Racing Organisation was an auto racing team and Formula One constructor founded by Ken Tyrrell (1924–2001) which started racing in 1958 and started building its own cars in 1970. The team experienced its greatest success in the early 1970s, when it won three Drivers' Championships and one Constructors' Championship with Jackie Stewart.
