1965 NSW First Division Season
The 1965 NSW First Division season was the ninth season of soccer in New South Wales under the administration of the NSW Federation of Soccer Clubs since its breakaway from the NSW Soccer Football Association in January 1957. In a truncated season compared to the previous year, the home and away regular season comprised 18 rounds, beginning in March and ending in August. South Coast United finished first on the ladder to become regular season premiers for the second time. The finals series was primarily held throughout September with a four-team playoff series. APIA Leichhardt reached the grand final against St George-Budapest when they eventually defeated Yugal after three minor semi final replays and defeat of South Coast in the preliminary final. The club recorded their second consecutive championship with a 2–0 victory over St George, with Johnny Watkiss and Johnny Wong scoring in the decider. National Premier Leagues NSW
The National Premier Leagues NSW is a semi-professional soccer competition in New South Wales, Australia. The competition is conducted by Football NSW, one of the two organising bodies in New South Wales (the other being the National Premier Leagues Northern NSW organised by Northern NSW Football). The league is a subdivision of the second tier National Premier Leagues (NPL), which sits below the national A-League. Prior to becoming a subdivision of the NPL in 2013, the league was previously known as the NSW Premier League. Drummoyne Oval
Drummoyne Oval is a multi-use sports ground in the Sydney inner-west suburb of Drummoyne, New South Wales. The ground has been used for international women's cricket matches, domestic men's cricket matches and first grade rugby league as well as local Australian rules football and Rugby Union games. The stadium has a capacity of 5,500 people and opened in 1931. Ground Usage Between 1932 and 1934, Balmain played their home games at the ground before moving to Leichhardt Oval. The final first grade game to be played at the ground was in 1950 when Balmain defeated Eastern Suburbs 20–11. In 1995, the ground hosted an Under 19s cricket test match between Australia, featuring a young Brett Lee, and India while in the 2009 Women's Cricket World Cup, five games were played there. Sydney Olympic Football Club is an Australian semi-professional soccer club, based in Belmore, Sydney, New South Wales, that plays in the National Premier Leagues NSW. The club was founded as Pan-Hellenic Soccer Club in 1957 by Greek immigrants. Wentworth Park
Wentworth Park is a park near the suburbs of Glebe and Ultimo in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The park contains several multi-purpose sporting pitches, cricket nets and a number of fitness installations. There is a playground in the southern area of the park and seating for picnics. Public toilets are next to the sports field. In the centre of the park is the Wentworth Park Sporting Complex. Maccabi Hakoah Sydney City East FC, commonly known as Maccabi Hakoah, is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in Sydney, New South Wales. The club was formed in 1939 as Sydney Hakoah by members of Sydney's Jewish community. They played between 1977 and 1986 in the National Soccer League as Eastern Suburbs (1977–1979) and Sydney City (1979–1987). The Arlington Recreation Ground (known as Arlington Oval) is a soccer stadium in Dulwich Hill, Sydney, Australia with a capacity of 6,000. Hurstville Oval
Hurstville Oval is a multi-use sporting ground, located in the suburb of Hurstville, in Sydney's southern suburbs. Since its opening, it has held various sports at the venue – including Cricket, Rugby League, Cycling and Football. The oval also has a velodrome in the grounds, between the field and the stands. St George FC, commonly called Saints or Budapest, is a semi-professional Australian association football, soccer club based in the St George (Sydney), St George district in the south of Sydney. Sydney Sports Ground
The Sydney Sports Ground No. 1 was a stadium and dirt track racing venue in Sydney, New South Wales. The ground was located where the car park of the Sydney Football Stadium (SFS) currently sits. The ground had two main grandstands and was surrounded by a grass covered hill, giving it a capacity of more than 35,000. It was demolished along with the smaller No.2 Ground in 1986 to allow the building of the SFS, which opened in 1988. Alpine is a city on the northeastern edge of Utah County, Utah, United States. The population was 10,251 at the time of the 2020 census.
