1964–65 FDGB-Pokal
The 1964-65 season saw the 14th competition for the FDGB-Pokal, the East German national football cup. In a qualification round played on 2 August 1964, the 32 teams of the second-tier DDR-Liga of the past season and 28 finalists of the Bezirkspokal competitions faced each other. Empor Neustrelitz and ASG Vorwärts Neubrandenburg were cup finalists as well as DDR-Liga members. The 14 DDR-Oberliga clubs joined the competition in the second round on 1 November 1964, and BSG Motor Steinach, SG Dynamo Dresden as well as SC Dynamo Berlin were already eliminated there. No Bezirkspokal finalist was left by the third round, and three of the four remaining DDR-Liga sides (ASG Vorwärts Cottbus, ASG Vorwärts Neubrandenburg, Motor Dessau, SC Chemie Halle) were eliminated in the third round. 1963–64 FDGB-Pokal
The 13th competition for the East German national football cup, the FDGB-Pokal, was held in the 1963-64 season. The competition began with a qualifying round for the 65 clubs of the 2nd DDR-Liga that had been dissolved at the end of the previous season. They were joined by 17 finalists of the Bezirkspokal competitions. 31 teams from the DDR-Liga joined in the first round, the 14 DDR-Oberliga teams only joined in the third round. By then all but two Bezirkspokal and 2nd DDR-Liga teams each had been eliminated. The fourth round saw the eleven remaining Oberliga teams, four DDR-Liga sides and BSG Empor Neustrelitz as the last club of those that had qualified via the Bezirkspokal. Neustrelitz went out following a 1–2 defeat at the hands of SC Motor Jena, as well as last year's finalist BSG Chemie Zeitz who were eliminated by a 0–2 loss against SC Aufbau Magdeburg. Extra Time
Overtime or extra time is an additional period of play specified under the rules of a sport to bring a game to a decision and avoid declaring the match a tie or draw where the scores are the same. In some sports, this extra period is played only if the game is required to have a clear winner, as in single-elimination tournaments where only one team or players can advance to the next round or win the tournament. The rules of overtime or extra time vary between sports and even different competitions. Some may employ " sudden death", where the first player or team who scores immediately wins the game. In others, play continues until a specified time has elapsed, and only then is the winner declared. SV Fortuna Magdeburg is a German association football club from the city of Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt. History The club was founded 1 August 1911 as Magdeburger Fußball-Verein Fortuna 1911. An earlier unrelated side known as Fussball Club Fortuna Magdeburg played in the Verband Magdeburger Ballspiel-Vereine (Federation of Magdeburg Ballplay Teams) between 1901 and 1904, including an appearance in the 1903–04 league final, soon after which the club was dissolved. FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt
FC Rot-Weiß Erfurt is a German association football club based in Erfurt, Thuringia. History Foundation to World War II The club has roots that go back to a cricket club founded in 1895. As they broadened their interests they came to be called ''Sport Club Erfurt''. The club was a founding member of the German Football Association in 1900 and in 1904 they joined the ''Verband Mitteldeutscher Ballspielvereine'' (Central German Football League). BSG Stahl Riesa
BSG Stahl Riesa is a German association football club from Riesa in Saxony. History The club was founded as ''SC Riesa'' in 1903 in the cellar of the local pub "Bodega" and was renamed ''Riesaer SV'' two years later. In 1917, they fused with ''FC Wettin'' and went on to play quietly as a local club until 1936 when they advanced to the Gauliga Sachsen, one of sixteen divisions in the top flight of German football during the Third Reich. After World War II the club was dissolved and replaced by the ''SG Riesa'' in late 1945. SC Apolda
SC Apolda was a German football club from the town of Apolda, Thuringia. It was established in 1910 as ''Ballspiel-Club Apolda'' and later adopted the name ''Sport-Club Apolda''. The team enjoyed a measure of success in the late 1920s playing top flight regional football in central Germany. __TOC__ History In 1927 the ''Apolda'' took part in the Mitteldeutscher-Pokal (Central German Cup) where they went out in a semifinal match to '' Chemnitzer BC'' (1:5). Eisenhüttenstädter FC Stahl
Eisenhüttenstädter FC Stahl was a German association football club based in Eisenhüttenstadt in Brandenburg. The club dissolved in 2016 and merged into FC Eisenhüttenstadt. FC Eisenhüttenstadt plays in the sixth tier Brandenburg-Liga as of the 2021–22 season. History The predecessor of Eisenhüttenstädter FC Stahl was founded as enterprise sports community BSG Stahl Fürstenberg Ost in Fürtstenberg in Bezirk Frankfurt in 1950. The football team was admitted to the new third tier Bezirksliga Frankfurt an der Oder in 1952. The community of Stalinstadt was built nearby for the workers of the local ironworks, and so the team was known as BSG Stahl Stalinstadt from 1953. FC Grün-Weiß Wolfen was a Football in Germany, German association football club from the industrial city of Bitterfeld-Wolfen in southern Saxony-Anhalt. History After an Agfa factory had been founded in Wolfen in 1909, the city experienced a boom that also led to the creation of the ''Wolfener Ballspielclub'' in 1915. VfB Germania Halberstadt
VfB Germania Halberstadt is a German football club from Halberstadt in Saxony-Anhalt. History The club was founded on 26 October 1949 as ''Betriebssportgemeinschaft Reichsbahn Halberstadt'' before being renamed ''BSG Lokomotive Halberstadt'' in 1950. Through the 1970s the team played in the East German third division DDR-Bezirksliga. The Fußballspielvereinigung Budissa Bautzen is a German association football club from Bautzen, Saxony. Founded as ''Fußballclub Budissa Bautzen'' on 24 May 1904, the club participated in East German football after World War II.
