1960 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship
The 1960 All-Ireland Minor Football Championship was the 29th staging of the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship, the Gaelic Athletic Association's premier inter-county Gaelic football tournament for boys under the age of 18. Dublin entered the championship as defending champions, however, they were defeated in the Leinster Championship. On 25 September 1960, Galway won the championship following a 4-9 to 1-5 defeat of Cork in the All-Ireland final. The Galway County Boards of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) ( ga, Cumann Lúthchleas Gael Coiste Chontae na Gaillimhe) or Galway GAA are one of the 32 county boards in Ireland; they are responsible for Gaelic games in County Galway, and for the Galway county teams. Galway is one of the few dual counties in Ireland, competing in a similar level in both hurling and football codes. O'Raghallaighs GFC is a Gaelic Athletic Association club from Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland. The club fields Gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. Clan na Gael GFC is a GAA club from Dundalk, County Louth, which fields Gaelic football teams in competitions organised by Louth GAA. Their motto is 'Once a Clan, Always a Clan'. History Affiliating in 1916, the club won the Louth Minor Football Championship in 1920. The first adult title followed in 1922 with victory in the Louth Junior Football Championship. 1923 saw the club win the Louth Senior Football Championship by defeating Boyne Rangers of Drogheda, captained by inter-county player Peter Garland. Croke Park ( ga, Páirc an Chrócaigh, ) is a Gaelic games stadium in Dublin, Ireland. Named after Archbishop Thomas Croke, it is referred to as Croker by GAA fans and locals.
