Lew Hoad
Lewis Alan Hoad (23 November 1934 – 3 July 1994) was an Australian tennis player whose career ran from 1950 to 1973. Hoad won four Major singles tournaments as an amateur (the Australian Championships, French Championships and two Wimbledons). He was a member of the Australian team that won the Davis Cup four times between 1952 and 1956. Hoad turned professional in July 1957. He won the Kooyong Tournament of Champions in 1958 and the Forest Hills Tournament of Champions in 1959. He won the Ampol Open Trophy world series of tournaments in 1959, which included the Kooyong tournament that concluded in early January 1960. Hoad's men's singles tournament victories spanned from 1951 to 1971. Neil Gibson (tennis)
Neil Gibson is an Australian former tennis player. Gibson's mother Lottie was the sister of tennis player Jack Crawford. He is the brother of Joan Gibson and cousin of Allan Kendall, who were both tour players. As a junior in 1954 he registered wins over Neale Fraser, Roy Emerson and Geoff Brown. Reino Nyyssönen
Reino Nyyssönen (12 February 1935 – January 2023) was a Finnish tennis player. Nyyssönen was a native of Turku but it was in Sweden that he took up the sport of tennis, after coming to the country as a World War II child evacuee. When he returned to Finland he continued his tennis development in Kotka. A Davis Cup player for Finland from 1955 to 1964, Nyyssönen won a total of 35 national championships, including six indoor and seven outdoor singles titles. Amongst his best grand slam performances, he made the mixed doubles quarter-finals at the 1961 Wimbledon Championships and the singles fourth round at the 1962 U.S. National Championships. William Arthur Knight (born 12 November 1935) is a former tennis player from Great Britain who competed on the amateur tour in the 1950s and 1960s. Robert Bédard (born 13 September 1931) is a Canadian former tennis player and educator. He is the most recent Canadian winner of the Canadian Open Tennis Championships. Bédard was considered among the top ten clay court players in the world and was the top-ranked Canadian singles player in ten years between 1955 and 1965. Torben Ulrich (born 4 October 1928) is a Danish writer, musician, filmmaker and former professional tennis player. He is the father of Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich. Biography Ulrich was born on 4 October 1928 in Copenhagen, the son of Ulla (née Meyer) and tennis player Einer Ulrich. Jacques "Jacky" Brichant (28 March 1930 – 9 March 2011) was a Belgian tennis player. He was ranked world No. 9 for 1957. Brichant was a clay court specialist and won many clay court tournaments in Europe. Brichant has played the most Davis Cup ties for his country. Ramanathan Krishnan (born 11 April 1937) is a retired tennis player from India who was among the world's leading players in the 1950s and 1960s. James Irvine Tattersall (27 March 1940 – 4 February 1997) was a British professional tennis player who became active from mid-1950s to early-1960s. Career Tattersall defeated Ivo Ribeiro of Brazil in the boys' singles final at the Wimbledon Championships in 1957 in straight sets.
