Petra Gerster
Petra Gerster [] (born 25 January 1955) is a German journalist and news presenter. Early life and education Starting in 1973, Gerster studied German studies, Slavic studies, and literature with a grant of the German Academic Scholarship Foundation at the University of Konstanz, as well as in the US and in Paris. In 1981 she received a Master of Arts. Career Gerster began her career as a newspaper journalist with ''Kölner Stadt-Anzeiger''. From 1989, she worked as a TV journalist for ZDF. She was a presenter on the German women's magazine show ''Mona Lisa'' for ten years. From 1998 until 2021, Gerster worked as anchor for ZDF's daily news magazine ''heute'', in rotation with Peter Hahne (1998–1999), Klaus-Peter Siegloch (1999–2003), Steffen Seibert (2003–2010), Matthias Fornoff (2010–2014) and Christian Sievers (2014–2021). Alexander Pusch (born 15 May 1955 in Tauberbischofsheim, Baden-Württemberg) is a German fencer and Olympic champion in épée competition. Klaus Siebert
Klaus Siebert (29 April 1955 – 24 April 2016) was a German biathlete and biathlon coach who raced for East Germany. Career At the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid, New York, Siebert won a silver medal on the relay with the East German relay team. In the Biathlon World Championships, Siebert earned two gold medals with the East German relay team in 1978 and 1979, and a bronze medal from 1977. He also garnered three individual medals including a gold medal from the 20 km in 1979 and two bronzes from the 10 km in 1975 and 1978. After retiring from competition he became a coach. He coached in Germany, China and Belarus. He returned to his coaching role with the Belarusian national biathlon team in January 2012 after spending much of the previous year ill with cancer. However, Siebert stepped down from this role ahead of the 2014-15 season due to health issues. Siebert died in Altenberg, Germany on 24 April 2016 after a long battle with cancer, aged 60. Bärbel Wöckel ( Eckert; born 21 March 1955 in Leipzig) is a retired East German sprinter. She never ran a world record in the individual disciplines. However, she ran several world records as part of relay teams with Doris Maletzki, Renate Stecher and Christina Heinich over 4 x 100 meters, the last time on September 8, 1974, in Rome. At the GDR Championships she took first place in the 4 x 100 meter relay in 1974, 1977, 1978, 1981 to 1984. In 1976 she won third place with the team. During this time she was in the state-organized doping program. Biography Wöckel won four Olympic gold medals between the 200 metres race and 4 × 100 metres relay, two each in the 1976 and 1980 Olympics. Catharina "Nina" Hagen (; born 11 March 1955) is a German singer, songwriter, and actress. She is known for her theatrical vocals and rose to prominence during the Punk subculture, punk and New wave music, new wave movements in the late 1970s and early 1980s. She is known as "The Godmother of German Punk". Thomas Bellut (born 8 March 1955) is a German journalist. From 2012 to 2022, he was the director (German: ''Intendant'') of the TV channel ZDF. Early life and education Bellut was born in Osnabrück. Friedbert Pflüger (born 6 March 1955) is a former German politician of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU). He was a Member of the German Bundestag (1990–2006).
