The Rec.Sport.Soccer Statistics Foundation (RSSSF) is an international organization dedicated to collecting statistics about association football. The foundation aims to build an exhaustive archive of football-related information from around the world. History This enterprise, according to its founders, was created in January 1994 by three regulars of the Rec.Sport.Soccer (RSS) Usenet newsgroup: Lars Aarhus, Kent Hedlundh, and Karel Stokkermans. Angelo Schiavio
Angelo Schiavio (; 15 October 1905 – 17 September 1990) was an Italian footballer who played as a forward. Schiavio spent his entire career with Bologna, the club of the city where he was born and died; he won four league titles with the club, and is the team's all-time highest goalscorer. He won the 1934 FIFA World Cup with Italy, finishing as the tournament's second highest goalscorer; winning the 1927–30 Central European International Cup & 1933–35 Central European International Cup and he also won a bronze medal with Italy at the 1928 Summer Olympics. Following his retirement, he later also managed both Bologna and the Italian national side. Regarded as one of Italy's greatest strikers, he was a quick, prolific, powerful, and technically gifted forward; in 2012, he was inducted into the Italian Football Hall of Fame. Leonardo Costagliola (; 27 October 1921 – 7 March 2008) was an Italian football player and manager who played as a goalkeeper. Giuseppe Chiappella (; 28 September 1924 – 26 December 2009) was an Italian football midfielder and manager. He played for Redaelli Milano, Stradellina, and Pisa, but is most famous for making over 300 appearances for Fiorentina. He represented Italy at international level in 17 games between 1953 and 1957. A midfielder is an outfield position in association football. Midfielders may play an exclusively defensive role, breaking up attacks, and are in that case known as defensive midfielders. Sergio Cervato (; 22 March 1929 – 9 October 2005) was an Italian footballer who played as a defender. Club career Cervato was born in Carmignano di Brenta, province of Padua. Playing for Fiorentina, he formed a formidable defensive partnership with Ardico Magnini; despite being a left-back, however, Cervato often contributed to the Viola's attacks, scoring 31 goals during his 10 years in Florence.
