Donal McKeown
Dónal McKeown (born 12 April 1950) is a Roman Catholic prelate from Northern Ireland who has served as Bishop of Derry since 2014. Early life and education McKeown was born in Belfast on 12 April 1950, one of four children to James McKeown and his wife Rose (née McMeel), and was baptised in St Patrick's Church, Donegall Street. He was brought up in Randalstown, County Antrim, where he played Gaelic football and hurling with Kickhams GAC Creggan. McKeown attended primary school at Mount St Michael's Primary School, Randalstown, and secondary school as a boarder at St MacNissi's College, Camlough, between 1961 and 1968, completing his O-Levels and A-Levels with special distinctions in Modern Languages. Peter Gerald Hain, Baron Hain (born 16 February 1950), is a British politician who served as Secretary of State for Northern Ireland from 2005 to 2007, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions from 2007 to 2008 and twice as Secretary of State for Wales from 2002 to 2008 and from 2009 to 2010. Paul Bew
Paul Anthony Elliott Bew, Baron Bew (born 22 January 1950), is a British historian from Northern Ireland and a life peer. He has worked at Queen's University Belfast since 1979, and is currently Professor of Irish Politics, a position he has held since 1991. Academic career Bew was born in Belfast. He attended Campbell College, Belfast before studying for his BA and PhD at Pembroke College, Cambridge. His first book, ''Land and the National Question in Ireland, 1858–82'' was a revisionist study that challenged nationalist historiography by examining the clash between landowners and tenants as well as the conflict between large and small tenants. His third book, a short study of Charles Stewart Parnell, challenged some of the arguments of the award-winning biography of Parnell by F. S. L. Dorothée Sonia "Lally" Segard (née Vagliano) (4 April 1921 – 3 March 2018), also known as Vicomtesse de Saint Sauveur, was a French amateur golfer. Early life Segard was born in Paris and the oldest of three siblings of a Greek (born in Marseilles, France) father, André Marino Vagliano (1896–1971) and an American mother, Barbara Frances Gallatin Allen (1897–1951), married 1920 in New York. Her brother Alexander (1927–2003) emigrated to the United States in 1940 and later reached a position as executive vice president at JP Morgan & Co. Her father won the French Open Amateur Championship in 1925 and the French Close Amateur in 1930 and 1931. He was also captain of the French National team and on the board of the French Golf Federation where he became the initiator of the PGA of France. Royal County Down Golf Club
Royal County Down Golf Club is a golf club in Northern Ireland, located in Newcastle, County Down. It opened on 23 March 1889 and is one of the oldest golf clubs in Ireland. It has two 18-hole links courses, the Championship Course and the Annesley Links. Significant tournaments Royal County Down has made outstanding contributions to Irish golf from the Club's beginnings, hosting many important tournaments, starting soon after it opened, and continuing to the present day. British Ladies Amateur Golf Championship
The Women's Amateur Championship, previously known as the Ladies' British Open Amateur Championship, was founded in 1893 by the Ladies' Golf Union. It is organised by The R&A, which merged with the Ladies' Golf Union in 2017. Until the dawn of the professional era in 1976, it was the most important golf tournament for women in Great Britain, and attracted players from continental Europe, North America, and the rest of the world.
