List Of Norwegian Monarchs
The list of Norwegian monarchs ( no, kongerekken or ''kongerekka'') begins in 872: the traditional dating of the Battle of Hafrsfjord, after which victorious King Harald Fairhair merged several petty kingdoms into that of his father. Named after the homonymous geographical region, Harald's realm was later to be known as the Kingdom of Norway. Traditionally established in 872 and existing continuously for over 1,100 years, the Kingdom of Norway is one of the original states of Europe: King Harald V, who has reigned since 1991, is the 64th monarch according to the official list. The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' ( no, Store Norske Leksikon, abbreviated ''SNL''), is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. The online encyclopedia is among the most-read Norwegian published sites, with more than two million unique visitors per month. Paper editions 1978–2007 The ''SNL'' was created in 1978, when the two publishing houses Aschehoug and Gyldendal merged their encyclopedias and created the company Kunnskapsforlaget. Up until 1978 the two publishing houses of Aschehoug and Gyldendal, Norway's two largest, had published ' and ', respectively. The respective first editions were published in 1907–1913 (Aschehoug) and 1933–1934 (Gyldendal). Helge Jordal
Helge Jordal (born 17 February 1946) is a Norwegian actor. He was appointed a Knight of the Royal Order of St. Olav in 2006 for his long career as an actor both on screen and on stage, and for his position as a "grand old man" among Norwegian actors. Career Jordal was born in Bergen. He is one of the most prominent Norwegian actors with a significant career. Since he graduated from the Teaterhøyskolen in 1972, he distinguished himself in several roles on the film screen, television, stage and cabaret theaters across the country. He was employed at the Nationaltheateret in Oslo (1972–77), Hålogaland Teater in Tromsø, before he came to the Den Nationale Scene (DNS) in Bergen (1981). He became a freelance actor in 1987, but has played significant roles in the DNS stage. Knut Vollebæk (born 11 February 1946 in Oslo) is a former Norwegian diplomat to the United States, (2001–2007, and centrist politician ( Norwegian Christian Democratic Party). He is currently a member of the International Commission on Missing Persons Board of Commissioners and heads a government commission investigating the situation of Norwegian Travellers. Karin Kjølmoen (born 8 February 1946 in Steinkjer) is a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. From 1995 to 1996, during the third cabinet Brundtland, she was appointed State Secretary in the Ministry of Local Government and Work Affairs. Anders Talleraas
Anders Talleraas (born 4 February 1946 in Brattvær) is a Norwegian politician for the Conservative Party. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Møre og Romsdal in 1977, and was re-elected on four occasions. Talleraas was a member of the executive committee of Molde municipality council between 1975 and 1978. From 1998 he sat on the board of Romsdals Fellesbank, and was Chairman of Avinor from 2002 to 2006. In 2012, Borgarting Court of Appeal found Talleraas guilty of through grave negligence unrightfully having received 2,6 million Norwegian krones in pension from the Norwegian Parliament. Øystein Rottem (1 February 1946 – 5 December 2004) was a Norwegian philologist, literary historian and literary critic. Personal life Rottem was born on the island of Hemnskjela in what was then the municipality of Heim. His parents were Sverre Bernhardsen Rottem and Solveig Terese Hassel. He was married to Gerd Synnøve Vigeland from 1969 to 1989, and to Bente Findling-Nielsen from 1991. He died from cancer in Copenhagen on 5 December 2004. Career Rottem graduated from the University of Oslo in 1976 with the cand.philol. degree.
