The 1943 National Challenge Cup was the 30th edition of the United States Football Association's annual open cup. Today, the tournament is known as the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Teams from the American Soccer League II competed in the tournament, based on qualification methods in their base region. Brooklyn Hispano
The Brooklyn Hispano was an American soccer club based in Brooklyn, New York that was an inaugural member of the reformed American Soccer League. The club was named the Brooklyn Giants for the 1942/43 season only. The Hispano club competed in the Southern New York State Football Association with several successful runs in their Cup competition during the 1920s. The club won the competition in 1927 and 1930 as the New York Hispano. N.Y. Hispano was a member of the professional Eastern Soccer League - a rival of the A.S.L. during the "soccer war" of 1929-1930. After 7 games of the 1933/34 ASL season the team merged with Brooklyn F.C. Morgan Strasser
Morgan F.C. was an early twentieth century U.S. soccer team from Morgan, Pennsylvania. Morgan is located in South Fayette Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The team became known as Morgan Strasser after Peter Strasser purchased it. History Morgan F.C. existed at least as early as 1912 when it won the '' Pittsburgh Press'' Soccer Football League. In 1924, it won the first of seven West Penn Challenge Cups. However, it did not come to national prominence until after Peter Strasser purchased the team some time in either the late 1930s or early 1940s. When he did, he changed the name to Morgan-Strasser F.C. At that point, the team took off, winning numerous league titles, state cups, the 1940 and 1943 National Amateur Cup, the 1949 National Challenge Cup.
