1936 Philadelphia Eagles Season
The 1936 Philadelphia Eagles season was their fourth in the league. The team failed to improve on their previous output of 2–9, winning only one game. Being shut out in six of their twelve games, the team failed to qualify for the playoffs for the fourth consecutive season. Offseason * The Eagles moved their training camp, after the first 2 years in Atlantic City, New Jersey and last year in Philadelphia at the Chestnut Hill Academy, to Temple University in Philadelphia. Ebbets Field
Ebbets Field was a Major League Baseball stadium in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York. It is mainly known for having been the home of the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team of the National League (1913–1957). 1936 Chicago Bears Season
The 1936 season was the Chicago Bears' 17th in the National Football League and 14th season under head coach George Halas. The team was able to improve on their 6–4–2 record from 1935 and finished with a 9–3 record. The team also finished in second place in the Western Division behind the Green Bay Packers. After week 10, the Bears were tied with the Packers in first place with identical 9–1 records, having split their season series. However, the club swooned at the end of the year, losing their last two games on the road to Detroit and the Cardinals. The Boston Redskins season was the franchise's 5th season in the National Football League. The team finished with a record of seven wins and five losses and finished in first place in the Eastern Division of the National Football League. They won their final three games of the regular season to win the division title, the finale was a 14–0 shutout of the New York Giants at the Polo Grounds. Paul Pauk
Paul Henry Pauk (1912 – January 4, 1941) was an American football back. He played three seasons at Princeton University, winning two national championships. Biography Pauk was born in 1912 in Connecticut. He attended Branford High School before going to Worcester Academy. After his time at Worcester, Pauk played college football at Princeton University. During his three years of football, they won two national championships, and lost only one game. He played on the 1936 East-West All-Star team after his senior year. Following his career at Princeton, he was selected with the 73rd pick of the 1936 NFL Draft by the Philadelphia Eagles. He did not play with the Eagles. William Pepper Constable Jr. (24 April 1914 – 13 August 1986) was an American football back. Constable was born on April 24, 1914, in Baltimore. His father was a Maryland lawyer. He attended high school at Gilman School before playing college football at Princeton. He was the president of class from 1934 to 1935 and named football team captain in '35. During his three seasons of football, the Tigers lost only one game, and won two national championships. Jac Weller
John "Jac" Weller (January 6, 1913 – August 18, 1994) was an American college football player, firearms expert and military historian. He was a consensus All-American in 1935 at the guard position. He played for Fritz Crisler's Princeton Tigers football team at Princeton University that went 25–1 during Weller's three years on the team. Weller later became known as a firearms expert and published several works on munitions and military history.
