1935–36 Serie C
The 1935–36 Serie C was the first edition of Serie C, the third highest league in the Italian football league system. The fascists changed the championships names as a trick to restore the format of 1929. The ''National Division Serie C'' took the place of the old ''First Division'' and its four groups format. Serie C
The Serie C () is the third-highest division in the Italian football league system after the Serie B and Serie A. The Lega Italiana Calcio Professionistico (Lega Pro) is the governing body that runs the Serie C. The unification of the Lega Pro Prima Divisione and the Lega Pro Seconda Divisione as Lega Pro Divisione Unica (often also abbreviated as ''Lega Pro'') in 2014 reintroduced the format of the original Serie C that existed between 1935 and 1978 (before the split into Serie C1 and Serie C2). On 25 May 2017 the Lega Pro assembly unanimously approved the return to the original name of the competition to Serie C. Rovigo Calcio
Rovigo Calcio is an Italian association football club from Rovigo, Veneto. History The club was founded in 1893. In the 2005–06 season of Serie D, Rovigo finished first in Girone D, winning direct promotion to Serie C2, returning to a professional league for the first time in 56 years. In the 2006–07 season of Serie C2, the team finished 6th in Girone B, missing by 2 points the chance to participate in the promotional playoffs. In the 2007–08 season of Serie C2, Rovigo finished 16th in Girone B, and was forced to play in the relegation playoffs. Being the lower classified team, Rovigo was relegated to Serie D after its two-legged tie with 15th-placed Castelnuovo ended in a 3–3 aggregate draw.
