Anna Boberg
Anna Katarina Boberg, née Scholander, (3 December 1864 – 27 January 1935) was a Swedish artist married to prominent architect Ferdinand Boberg. Anna Scholander was the daughter of architect Fredrik Wilhelm Scholander and the granddaughter of Axel Nyström. Boberg was a person of many artistic pursuits; initially she worked with ceramics and textiles (among other things she created "the Peacock vase" for Rörstrand) and besides painting she also worked with set design and writing, for example. She was of an artistic family, but never received any formal training in the arts, and is considered an autodidact. Many of her paintings are of northern Norway, which became Boberg's main focus for many years after a trip there in 1901. These works were not received very well in Sweden, but did much better in Paris. Gertrud Månsson
Gertrud Carolina Månsson (18 December 1866 – 30 December 1935), was a Swedish municipal politician (Social democrat). She was the first female member in the Stockholm City Council, and also the first elected female politician of her country as a whole (1910). Life Early life Gertrud Månsson was born in Stockholm to the iron worker Johannes Månsson and Charlotta Christina Lindqvist. Because of her poverty, she left school at the age of eleven to support herself as a maidservant. By 1896, she had managed to open her own shop in Vasastaden. Early career Gertrud Månsson educated herself through autodidacticism and engaged herself in politics and the Swedish Social Democratic Party. Kurt Tucholsky
Kurt Tucholsky (; 9 January 1890 – 21 December 1935) was a German journalist, satirist, and writer. He also wrote under the pseudonyms Kaspar Hauser (after the historical figure), Peter Panter, Theobald Tiger and Ignaz Wrobel. Tucholsky was one of the most important journalists of the Weimar Republic. As a politically engaged journalist and temporary co-editor of the weekly magazine ''Die Weltbühne'' he proved himself to be a social critic in the tradition of Heinrich Heine. He was simultaneously a satirist, an author of satirical political revues, a songwriter and a poet. He saw himself as a left-wing democrat and pacifist and warned against anti-democratic tendencies – above all in politics, the military – and the threat of National Socialism. Hedvig ''Maria'' Reddita Cederschiöld (29 June 1856, Stockholm – 19 October 1935, Stockholm), was a Swedish journalist and women's rights activist. She was the chief editor of the foreign office at ''Aftonbladet'' in 1909–1921, and the first woman in Sweden to hold such a position at a Swedish newspaper. She was also a secretary and vice chairperson of the Swedish branch of the International Council of Women. Life Maria Cederschiöld was born to the official and noble Gustaf Cederschiöld (1812–1860) and Elsa Vilhelmina (Mimmy) Borg (1820–1889) and was the sister of the linguist Gustaf Cederschiöld. Hilda Sachs
Hilda Gustafva Sachs (13 March 1857, Norrköping – 26 February 1935), was a Swedish journalist, translator, writer and feminist. She was the daughter of merchant Johan Gustaf Engström and Gustafva Augusta Gustafsson in Norrköping. She worked for some time as a governess in the countryside, and studied at Högre lärarinneseminariet in Stockholm 1878–1881, after which she returned to teaching. In 1886, she married the Jewish florist Carl Fredrik Sachs (1860–1893). She began her career as a journalist after the death of her spouse in 1893 to support herself and her children, and reported for several papers such as Dagens Nyheter, DN, Nya Dagligt Allehanda, SvD and Stockholmsbladet from 1895 until 1920. In 1899, she was the first of her sex to be a delegate at the international journalist conference in Rome, where she represented Swedish paper NDA. Calla Curman
Calla Curman, née ''Lundström'' (1850–1935), was a Swedish writer, salon-holder and feminist. She was also the founder of Stångehuvud nature reserve and one of the five founders of the women's association Nya Idun. Family Calla Curman was born on 12 November 1850 in Jönköping, Sweden, the only child of wealthy industrialist and his wife Sofie Malmberg (1830–1897). She received in-home tutoring from a private tutor. At the age of 17, she married Adolf Liljenroth (1836–1874), a battalion physician, with whom she had two children, and . A few years after she was widowed by Liljenroth, Calla's parents took her on a trip to Italy. The educated Carl Curman, whom she had met on a visit with her mother to Lysekil during a few summer weeks in 1864, was invited to join them as a guide for the Italian trip.
