1933–34 Svenska Mästerskapet (men's Handball)
The 1933–34 Svenska mästerskapet was the third season of Svenska mästerskapet, a tournament held to determine the Swedish Champions of men's handball. Teams qualified by winning their respective District Championships. 18 teams competed in the tournament. Redbergslids IK were the defending champions, and won their second title, defeating Sollefteå GIF in the final. The final was played on 27 March in Mässhallen in Gothenburg, and was watched by 1,115 spectators. List Of Swedish Men's Handball Champions
The Swedish men's handball champions (Swedish: ''Svenska mästare i handboll för herrar'') have been determined by three different competitions. From 1931–32 until 1951–52, the title was decided by a straight knockout tournament known as ''Svenska mästerskapet'' ("the Swedish Championship"). After 1934–35, it was played parallel to the highest league, Allsvenskan. The tournament was contested by the winners of the ''Distriktsmästerskap'' ("Provincial Championships") until 1945–46. After that it was contested by all teams from the top division, all Provincial Champions and invited teams from lower leagues. From 1952–53 until 1966–67, the title of Swedish Champions was awarded to the winners of Allsvenskan. Since 1967–68, the Swedish Champions have been determined by a playoffs competition between the highest-placed teams in the top league. IS Halmia
IS Halmia is a football club, located in Halmstad, Sweden. Background IS Halmia was founded on 16 June 16, 1907 and currently plays in Division 2 Västra Götaland. In early years, the club also played bandy. The first ever bandy game between two organised teams in Halland, is thought to have been played between Halmia and local rival Halmstads BK in 1922. In 1932 Halmia won the Halland district championship in this sport. In 1932 the club also became the first team from Halmstad to reach the Allsvenskan, the top-tier football league in Sweden. Upsala Studenters IF
Upsala Studenters IF is a Swedish sport club from Uppsala founded in 1908. They club has had sections in basketball, table tennis, sport of athletics, athletics, fencing, handball, volleyball, bandy and tennis The handball team was promoted to Handbollsligan, Allsvenskan in 1937. They won the Swedish championship, decided by a straight knockout tournament, in 1939. After that season, they withdrew from Allsvenskan and never returned. They did, however, play in the last edition of the Swedish championship tournament in 1952 (after that the Swedish champions title was awarded to the league winners). IFK Östersund
IFK Östersund is a Swedish football club located in Östersund in Jämtland. Background Idrottsföreningen Kamraterna Östersund were founded on 7 March 1906 at the Café Temperance in Östersund. It is currently playing in the fourth tier of Swedish football, Division 2. Ystads IF is a handball club from Ystad, Sweden. They play in Handbollsligan. They won the Swedish Championship in 1976, 1992 and 2022. History Ystads IF was founded in 1908 and took up handball on the programme in 1929. In 1933–34, the club won an unofficial six-team league consisting of teams from the cities of Ystad and Kristianstad. Flottans IF Karlskrona
Karlskrona Handboll was a Swedish handball club based in Karlskrona, founded in 1920. They were the first Swedish champions in 1932. They were founding members of Allsvenskan in 1934–35. They reached the Swedish championship final again in 1936, but lost to Hellas. They were relegated from Allsvenskan in 1939 and have not returned since.
