Louie Bickerton
Louie Mildred Bickerton Cozens (née Bickerton) (11 August 1902 – 6 June 1998) was a female tennis player from Australia. She was born in Clifton Hill, Victoria, Australia and won the women's doubles titles at the 1927, 1929, and 1931 Australian Championships. She won the mixed doubles title at those championships in 1935 and was the runner-up in the 1929 singles and 1935 women's doubles at that tournament. Perhaps Bickerton's biggest singles victory outside of Australia was her first round defeat of 44-year-old and eight time U.S. champion Molla Bjurstedt Mallory in the first round of Wimbledon in 1928. Nell Hall Hopman
Eleanor "Nell" Mary Hall Hopman, CBE (née Hall; 9 March 1909 – 10 January 1968) was one of the female tennis players that dominated Australian tennis from 1930 through the early 1960s. She was the first wife of Harry Hopman, the coach and captain of 22 Australian Davis Cup teams. Early life Hopman was born on 9 March 1909 at Coogee, Sydney and was the only daughter and second of three children of Charles Ernest Hall, clerk, and Mabel Gertrude, née Tipper. She was educated at Claremont College, Randwick and as a student she excelled at tennis and music. She obtaining her licentiate and teaching diploma at the Royal College of Music, London, and received a scholarship in 1928 but instead elected to pursue a tennis career. Coral Buttsworth
Coral Annabell Buttsworth (née McInnes; 7 June 1900 – 20 December 1985) was a female tennis player from Australia who won the singles title at the Australian Championships in 1931 and 1932 and the women's doubles title there in 1932. In 1933 she again made the final of the Australian Championships but was defeated in straight sets by first-seeded Joan Hartigan. Buttsworth was the only multiple winner of the singles title at the Australian Championships who never won a state singles title. A strong, thick-set woman from Sydney, she was addicted to chopping the ball, with an excellent drop shot, and was quick around the court. She was a player who preferred to maneuver opponents out of position by running them up and back on the court rather than from side to side. Betty Jean Ward (born September 12, 1944) is an American actress. She is the creator and the star of ''Stand-Up Opera'', a musical one-woman show. Personal life Ward was first married to Donald Trenner in 1966, they divorced in 1978, but they each remained one another's dearest and closest friends until his death on May 16, 2020. She was later married to director Gordon Hunt from 1995 until his death in 2016. Her stepdaughter is actress Helen Hunt.
