President Of The Republic Of China
The president of the Republic of China, now often referred to as the president of Taiwan, is the head of state of the Republic of China (ROC), as well as the commander-in-chief of the Republic of China Armed Forces. The position once had authority of ruling over Mainland China, but its remaining jurisdictions has been limited to Taiwan, Penghu, Kinmen, Matsu and other smaller islands since the conclusion of Second Chinese Civil War. Originally elected by the National Assembly, the presidency was intended to be a ceremonial office with no real executive power as the ROC was originally envisioned as a parliamentary republic. Since the 1996 presidential election, the president is directly elected by plurality voting to a four-year term, with incumbents limited to serving two terms. Chen Jue (revolutionary)
Chen Jue (), once named Chen Bingxiang (), (1903 -October 14, 1928) was a martyr who sacrificed his life in the early years of the revolution led by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He and his wife, Zhao Yunxiao (), were a martyr couple who devoted their lives to the CCP. Personal Experience Chen Jue was born in Liling, in the east of Hunan province in 1903. He began to study in a private school when he was 7. In 1922, he entered the prefectural high school of LiLing. Two years later, in 1924, he joined the Communist Youth League of China and was elected as the chairman of the student association of prefectural high school of Liling. In 1925, he joined the Chinese Communist Party. Then in September, he went to study in Moscow Sun Yat-sen University () where he met his wife. Family His wife, Zhao Yunxiao (), was also a martyr. Wu Junsheng
Wu Junsheng, or Wu Tsi-cheng, 吳俊陞, (1863–1928) was a Chinese general, and the cavalry commander of the Fengtian clique. Wu Junsheng was born to a peasant family in Changtu, Fengtien province (today Liaoning), on November 23, 1863. He joined a cavalry troop in 1880 and helped crush the Manchu independence plan (supported by the Japanese) in 1912. He supported Yuan Shikai's monarchy in 1915 and Zhang Zuolin's effort to seize Manchuria. He was rewarded with the military and civil governorship of Heilongjiang in March 1921 and promoted to commander of the 5th Army in 1924. Li Yuanhong
Li Yuanhong (; courtesy name Songqing 宋卿) (October 19, 1864 – June 3, 1928) was a Chinese politician during the Qing dynasty and the Republic of China. He was the president of the Republic of China between 1916 and 1917, and between 1922 and 1923. Early life A native of Huangpi, Hubei, he was the son of a Qing veteran of the Taiping Rebellion named Li Chaoxiang (). He graduated from the Tianjin naval academy in 1889 and served as an engineer in the First Sino-Japanese war. His cruiser was sunk and he survived because of his life belt, since he could not swim. He later joined the Hubei New Army and became senior military officer in Hankou. In 1910, he attempted to break up revolutionary rings that infiltrated his 21st Mixed Brigade. He did not arrest anyone caught in subversive activities, but simply dismissed them. Xia Minghan
Xia Minghan (; 1900 – 30 March 1928) was an early leader of the Chinese revolution, revolution martyr, and a pioneer of Chinese Communist Party (CCP). He was arrested and executed by the Kuomintang (KMT) in 1928. Early life Xia was born in 1900, in Zigui County, Hubei Province to Xia Shaofan (夏绍范) and Lu Yunfeng (陆云凤). Sun Shenglu (; 1928 in Dingxing County, Hebei – December 3, 1952) was a MiG-15 pilot of the People's Republic of China. He was a flying ace during the Korean War, with 6 victories. A member of the 3rd Fighter Aviation Division, Sun was killed in action on December 3, 1952 near the Ch'ongch'on River. Li Peng (; 20 October 1928 – 22 July 2019) was a Chinese politician who served as the fourth Premier of the People's Republic of China from 1987 to 1998, and as the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, China's top legislative body, from 1998 to 2003. Shen Daren (; August 1928 – August 2, 2017) was a Chinese politician from Jiangsu province. He was best known for his terms as the Communist Party Secretary of Ningxia between 1986 and 1989 and party secretary of his home province between 1989 and 1993. Biography Shen grew up in Changzhou, Jiangsu. He began work as a technician at a textiles factory, where he rose through the ranks to become a supervisor, then deputy head of the factory.
