Monarchy Of Norway
The Norwegian monarch is the head of state of Norway, which is a constitutional and hereditary monarchy with a parliamentary system. The Norwegian monarchy can trace its line back to the reign of Harald Fairhair and the previous petty kingdoms which were united to form Norway; it has been in unions with both Sweden and Denmark for long periods. The present monarch is King Harald V, who has reigned since 17 January 1991, succeeding his father, Olav V. The heir apparent is his only son, Crown Prince Haakon. The crown prince undertakes various public ceremonial functions, as does the king's wife, Queen Sonja. The crown prince also acts as regent in the king's absence. There are several other members of the royal family, including the king's daughter, grandchildren and sister. Gunnar Thorleif Hvashovd
Gunnar Thorleif Hvashovd (born 24 January 1924 in Kongsberg, died 12 October 2001) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Buskerud in 1969, and was re-elected on two occasions. He had previously served as a deputy representative during the terms 1961–1965 and 1965–1969. On the local level he was a member of Kongsberg municipality council from 1951 to 1955 and 1959 to 1971, serving as mayor from 1959 to 1969. From 1967 to 1971 he was also a member of Buskerud county council. He chaired the municipal party chapter in 1954–1955 and 1958–1969. Viktor Olsen
Viktor Olaf Olsen (5 February 1924 – 21 April 2023) was a Norwegian long-distance runner who specialized in the marathon race. He finished sixteenth at the Athletics at the 1952 Summer Olympics – Men's marathon, 1952 Summer Olympics, ninth at the 1954 European Championships in Athletics, 1954 European Championships and finally eighteenth at the 1958 European Championships in Athletics, 1958 European Championships. Olsen became Norwegian marathon champion in 1954, 1956, 1957, 1958 and 1959, breaking a four-year dominance of John Systad. He also won a bronze medal in 1950 as well as silver medals in 1951, 1952, 1953, 1955, 1960 and 1961. He also dominated the 25 kilometre road race in the 1950s, winning a bronze in 1949 and 1950; silver in 1958 and gold in 1953, 1954, 1955, 1956 and 1957. He represented the club Charlottenlund SK in Trondheim. His personal best time was 2:28:50 hours, achieved in August 1958 in Trondheim. Olsen died on 21 April 2023, at the age of 99. Reference ...

Johan Syrstad
Johan Syrstad (3 February 1924 – 16 December 2019) was a Norwegian politician for the Centre Party. He was born in Meldal as a son of Ivar Syrstad (1893–1973) and Johanna Syrstadeng (1898–1999). He attended folk high school from 1941 to 1942, took the examen artium in 1946 and one-year economical and agricultural schools. From 1950 to his retirement in 1988 he owned and operated the family farm Syrstad. He was also director of the local savings bank from 1983 to 1991. He was a member of Meldal municipal council from 1955 to 1975, the last twelve years in the executive committee. He chaired the county party chapter from 1960 to 1966. He served as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Sør-Trøndelag during the terms 1961–1965, 1965–1969, 1969–1973 and 1973–1977. Ivar Ramstad
Ivar Ramstad (3 February 1924 – 26 April 2009) was a Norwegian discus thrower. He worked as a farmer at the farm Nygjerdet, between Røra and Straumen, and also had a career in Gjensidige. His brother Jon Ramstad was mayor of Levanger. His personal best throw was 52.32 metres, achieved in July 1948 on Bislett Stadion. This stood as a Norwegian record in the discus throw for eleven years. It is still the county record for Nord-Trøndelag. Knut Hoem
Knut Hoem (27 January 1924 – 20 June 1987) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Hammerfest and graduated as cand.jur. in 1950, and was a secretary in the Ministry of Fisheries from 1951 to 1954. He then spent his career working in '' Norges Råfisklag'', a Norwegian fishing cooperative, sitting as CEO from 1964 to 1987.
