1915–16 Dartmouth Men's Ice Hockey Season
The 1915–16 Dartmouth men's ice hockey season was the 11th season of play for the program. Season Dartmouth began their first season under Clarence Wanamaker (class of 1915) well, winning their first three intercollegiate games by shutting out their opponents. The team didn't appear to have lost a step from the squad that had narrowly missed winning a championship the year before, but when they hit the meat of their schedule the team fared poorly. The Greens lost a close decision to Princeton in mid January then had over three weeks before their next contest. When they played Harvard they were in no shape to face the defending champions and lost badly. They found their legs in the next game against Yale, keeping even with the Elis deep into overtime, but the Bulldogs scored the game winner, relegating Dartmouth to second class status for the year. Dartmouth Big Green Men's Ice Hockey
The Dartmouth Big Green men's ice hockey team is a National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college ice hockey program that represents Dartmouth College. The Big Green are a member of ECAC Hockey. They play at the Thompson Arena in Hanover, New Hampshire. History Early years Dartmouth College fielded their first ice hockey team in January 1906, winning their first game 4–3. The team played an expanded schedule the next two years but after a 1–5–1 finish in 1908 the program hired its first head coach and promptly posted a 10–3–1 record. The ice hockey club would bring in a new bench boss each year until 1912 when Fred Rocque stayed for three seasons followed by Clarence Wanamaker with four. New Haven Arena
New Haven Arena was an indoor arena on Grove Street in New Haven, Connecticut, that served as a venue for ice hockey, concerts, and circuses. The first arena opened in 1914 but burned down in 1924. The new arena was started but went bankrupt; it was bought by Abraham Podoloff and his sons Nathan and Maurice and completed in 1927. It held over 4,000 people. The Boston Athletic Association ice hockey team was an American amateur ice hockey team sponsored by the Boston Athletic Association that played in the American Amateur Hockey League, United States Amateur Hockey Association, and Eastern Amateur Hockey League. The team won the AAHL title in 1916 and 1917 and the USAHA championship in 1923, and the EAHL title in 1926. The team was nicknamed the Unicorn after the association's symbol.
