1912–13 Northern Rugby Football Union Season
The 1912–13 Northern Rugby Football Union season was the 18th season of rugby league football. Season summary Huddersfield ended the regular season as league leaders and then defeated Wigan 29-2 in the play-off final to win their second Championship in as many seasons. The Challenge Cup Winners were Huddersfield who defeated Warrington 9-5. Ebbw Vale dropped out. Matches between Wakefield Trinity and Coventry, and Bramley and York were cancelled. Huddersfield's Australian Albert Rosenfeld broke his own record of 76 tries in a season which he set last year by scoring 80 this season. Wigan won the Lancashire League, and Huddersfield won the Yorkshire League. Huddersfield Giants
Huddersfield Giants are an English professional rugby league club from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, the birthplace of rugby league, who play in the Super League competition. They play their home games at the John Smiths Stadium which is shared with Huddersfield Town F.C. Huddersfield is also one of the original twenty-two rugby clubs that formed the Northern Rugby Football Union in 1895, making them one of the world's first rugby league teams. Batley is a market town in the Metropolitan Borough of Kirklees, in West Yorkshire, England. The Swinton Lions are a professional rugby league club based in Swinton, Greater Manchester, England, which competes in the Championship. The club has won the Championship six times and three Challenge Cups. Before 1996, the club was known simply as Swinton. History Early years The club was formed in 1866 when members of Swinton Cricket Club decided to take up "football" in the winter to keep fit. Other than an annual challenge against the local Lancashire Rifle Volunteers from 1869, the only games played were amongst the club's own membership. The Widnes Vikings are an English rugby league club in Widnes, Cheshire, which competes in the Betfred Championship. The club plays home matches at the Halton Stadium. Broughton Rangers
Broughton Rangers were one of the twenty-one rugby clubs which met at the George Hotel, Huddersfield, in 1895 to form the Northern Rugby Football Union. They were originally based in Broughton, Salford, but in 1933 moved to Gorton, Manchester to play at the Belle Vue Stadium, and were renamed Belle Vue Rangers in 1946. The club folded in 1955. Hunslet () is an inner-city area in south Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. It is southeast of the city centre and has an industrial past. The Dewsbury Rams are a professional English rugby league club based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire that compete in the Championship. They play their home games at the Tetley's Stadium, on Owl Lane.
