Olav Duun
Olav Duun (21 November 1876 – 13 September 1939) was a noteworthy author of Norwegian fiction. He is generally recognized to be one of the more outstanding writers in Norwegian literature. He once lacked only one vote to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, and was nominated twenty-four times, in fourteen years. Early life Duun was born in the traditional district Ytre Namdal, on Jøa an island in the Namsen Fjord in Fosnes municipality, Nord-Trøndelag county, Norway. His parents were Johannes Antonius Duun and Ellen (Fossum) Duun. Olav Duun was born Ole Johannesen Raaby. Duun was the oldest in a family of eight siblings. During his years as a boy his family lived at several farms on the island, the last one being Duun. He adopted the last name Duun when he left the island to start his training as a teacher. Lars Bergendahl
Lars Bergendahl (30 January 1909 – 22 June 1997) was a Norwegian cross-country skier who competed during the 1930s. He won several medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. In 1937, Bergendahl earned golds in the 18 km cross country event and 4 × 10 km relay. In 1938, he earned a silver in the 4 × 10 km relay and a bronze in the 50 km Cross country event. In 1939, Bergendahl won the 50 km cross-country skiing event. Bergendahl won the men's 50 km at the Holmenkollen ski festival in 1940. Because of his successes, Bergendahl was awarded the Holmenkollen medal in 1939 (Shared with Sven Selånger and Trygve Brodahl.). His uncle, Lauritz, won the medal in 1910. Einar Tommelstad (19 January 1909 – 7 November 1983) was a Norwegian high jumper. He represented Oslo IL. At the 1928 Summer Olympics he finished eleventh in the high jump final with a jump of 1.84 metres. He became Norwegian high jump champion in 1928, and also won the Norwegian championships in pentathlon in 1930. His personal best jump was 1.92 metres, achieved in July 1928 on Bislett stadion Bislett Stadium ( no, Bislett stadion) is a sports stadium in Oslo, Norway. Bjarne Andersen
Bjarne Andersen (15 January 1909 – 13 August 1982) was a Norwegian actor, stage producer and theatre director. Personal life Andersen was born in Stavanger to Emil Laurentzius Andersen and Ingeborg Bertine Osmondsdatter Udvig. He married librarian Sissel Aanderaa in 1957. Career Andersen worked for Det Norske Teatret from 1944 to 1951. He served as theatre director at Rogaland Teater from 1958 to 1960, and at Den Nationale Scene from 1961 to 1963. He was chairman for the Norwegian Actors' Equity Association from 1967 to 1969. He made his film debut in Tancred Ibsens ''To mistenkelige personer'' (1950). Among his film roles was the one as Stråmannen (''Straw Man'') in Arne Skouens ''Emergency Landing'' (1952).
