Led by eighth-year head coach Pop Warner, the Indians compiled a record of 10–2–1 and outscored opponents 243 to 94. Warner's team ran the single-wing on offense. Pop Warner
Glenn Scobey Warner (April 5, 1871 – September 7, 1954), most commonly known as Pop Warner, was an American college football coach at various institutions who is responsible for several key aspects of the modern game. Included among his innovations are the single and double wing formations (precursors of the modern spread and shotgun formations), the three point stance and the body blocking technique. Fellow pioneer coach Amos Alonzo Stagg called Warner "one of the excellent creators". He was inducted as a coach into the College Football Hall of Fame as part of its inaugural class in 1951. He also contributed to a junior football program which became known as Pop Warner Little Scholars, a popular youth American football organization. 1909 College Football All-America Team
The 1909 College Football All-America team is composed of college football players who were selected as All-Americans for the 1909 college football season. The only selector for the 1909 season who has been recognized as "official" by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is Walter Camp. Many other sports writers and newspapers also selected All-America teams in 1909. The United Press and ''The Atlanta Constitution'' both published their own "consensus" All-America teams based on their aggregating the first-team picks of a number of selectors (22 by the United Press and 10 by ''The Atlanta Constitution''). A total of nine players from the 1909 Yale Bulldogs football team were selected as first-team All-Americans by at least one selector. Robison Field is the best-known of several names given to a former Major League Baseball park in St. Louis, Missouri. It was the home of the St. Louis Cardinals of the National League from April 27, 1893 until June 6, 1920. History Today's Cardinals of the National League began in 1882, as the St. Louis Browns of the then-major American Association. They won four championships during the Association's ten-year existence of 1882 through 1891.
