1902 Copa De La Coronación Final
The 1902 Copa de la Coronación Final was the final of the 1902 Copa de la Coronación, Copa de la Coronación, the Spain, Spanish Association football, football cup competition. The match took place on 15 May 1902 at the Estadio del Hipódromo, Hipódromo in Madrid. The match was contested by Bizcaya (football team), Club Bizcaya and FC Barcelona, and it was refereed by Carlos Padrós. Bizcaya (football team), Club Bizcaya lifted the trophy for the first time with a 2–1 victory over FC Barcelona. Bizcaya's Captain (association football), captain and president Juan Astorquia netted the opening goal early in the first half and they doubled their lead a few minutes later thanks to Armand Cazeaux, Raymond Cazeaux. Barcelona only responded in the second half with a goal from John Parsons (footballer, born 1875), John Parsons, but it was not enough to prevent Bizcaya from winning the tournament. Luis Arana (footballer)
Luis Arana Urigüen (14 February 1874 – 7 June 1951) was a Spanish footballer who played as a goalkeeper who won the 1902 Copa de la Coronación with Club Bizcaya. He later became a sailor, representing his country at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Miguel Valdés Padró (13 October 1867 - 5 May 1951) was a Spanish gymnast and footballer who played as a midfielder for Català FC and FC Barcelona. Arthur Whitty Cotton, also known as Don Arturo, was a footballer, club president and businessman. Whitty played for FC Barcelona in the first Copa del Rey final and later served as club president between 1903 and 1905. George Meyer was a Swiss-born footballer who played as a defender and midfielder for Spanish club FC Barcelona and RCD Espanyol. Luis Puelles Pàmies (1877 – Unknown) was a Spanish footballer who played as a Goalkeeper and defender for FC Barcelona. Samuel Alfredo Morris de Olea (1870 - 23 August 1935), was an Anglo-Filipino football pioneer who played as a goalkeeper for some of the earliest Catalan clubs in existence.
