Peter Egge
Peter Egge (1 April 1869 – 15 July 1959) was a renowned Norwegian author, journalist and playwright. His writing career extended from 1891 until 1955. Early life Peter Egge was born in Trondheim, Norway. He was the second eldest in a family of nine children born to a couple from Nord-Trøndelag. Summer holidays were often spent with relatives in the rural countryside. His writings would later commonly focus on Trondheim, and feature the rural customs of the traditional district of Innherred where he spent his childhood and adolescence. Career Egge attended the Trondheim Cathedral School, from which he graduated in 1887. Egge made his literary debut with the novel ''Almue'' (1891). He later started his job as a journalist with the Trondheim-based newspaper ''Dagsposten''. In the following years he divided his time between journalism and authorship. Johannes Irgens
Johannes Irgens (31 July 1869 – 29 December 1939) was a Norwegian barrister, diplomat and politician, noted for his service as minister of foreign affairs of Norway from 1910 to 1913. Personal life Irgens was born into the merchant and civil service family of Irgens, as a son of Marcus Fredrik Irgens (1839–1876) and Julie Martine Nicoline Dyrgreen (1840–1906). In November 1892 he married Lilla Minda Marie Gulbranson (1872–1938), a daughter of Carl August Gulbranson (1831–1910) and Minda Ramm Juell (1844–1913). Through this marriage, Irgens was a brother-in-law of Carl Gulbranson. His father was docent at the Norwegian College of Agriculture, but died when Irgens was seven years old. Holger Sinding-Larsen
Peter Andreas Holger Sinding-Larsen (5 July 1869 – 12 December 1938) was a Norwegian architect. He is most associated with his work at Akershus Fortress, where he was a member of the restoration committee and architect from 1905 to 1922. Biography Sinding-Larsen was born in Christiania (now Oslo), Norway. He was the son of Alfred Sinding-Larsen (1839–1911) ) and Elisabeth Lange (1842–1887). He was a brother of physician Christian Magnus Sinding-Larsen, colonel Birger Fredrik Sinding-Larsen and painter Kristofer Sinding-Larsen. Gitta Jønsson
Gitta Jønsson (5 October 1869 – 6 March 1950) was a Norwegian Labour Party politician and proponent for women's rights. Early and personal life Jønsson was born in Tromsøysund, a daughter of Johan Widding Larsen Hagerup and Eline Marie Moe. As a young woman she worked as housemaid in Tromsø and Kristiania, and was eventually running a milk shop along with her sister. She married saddle maker Anders Jønsson in 1903, and they settled in Tromsø, where he established a workshop and she opened a café. Their daughter Bengta Andrea married composer Bjarne Amdahl. Political career Jønsson joined the Labour Party in 1909, and founded Tromsø Arbeiderkvinneforening in 1911. Taking part in local politics, she was elected member of the executive council of Tromsø from 1913 to 1925. Anna Gjøstein
Anna Gjøstein (15 June 1869 – 6 January 1956) was a Norwegian proponent for women's rights. Personal life Gjøstein was born in Ås, Viken, Ås on 15 June 1869, a daughter of Ole Andersen Moberg and Ovidia Simensdatter Skræmma. While she was a child, the family moved to Oslo, Christiania where she attended ''Sandbergs pikeskole''. She travelled to Michigan in the United States with her fiancee Johan Gjøstein, and they married in 1888. In 1889 they moved back to Norway and settled in Stavanger. Andreas Tostrup Urbye
Andreas Tostrup Urbye (8 May 1869–16 May 1955) was a Norwegian civil servant, lawyer, and politician. He served as a county governor and also as a Minister in the Norwegian Cabinet from 1913-1917. He was also the secretary at the Karlstad negotiations that led to the dissolution of the union between Norway and Sweden. Hjalmar Christensen
Hjalmar Christensen (5 May 1869 – 29 December 1925) was a Norwegian writer and a prominent literary critic. Biography Christensen was born at Sunnfjord in Sogn og Fjordane, Norway. He was raised on a farm in the community of Førde. He was the son of Michael Sundt Tuchsen Christensen (1827–95) and Frederikke Sophie Elster (1838–1927). His brother Ingolf Elster Christensen served as a government official and a member of the Storting. He attended Bergen Cathedral School. He studied law and received a legal degree at the Royal Frederick University (now University of Oslo) in 1892.
