Gunhild Rosén
Gunhild Rosén (7 December 1855 - 1928) was a Swedish ballerina, choreographer and a ballet master of the Royal Swedish Ballet in Stockholm. Gunhild Rosén was born in Norrköping, and was a student of Anders Selinder. She became a figurant dancer at the Ballet of the Royal Swedish Opera in 1872, second dancer in 1875 and premier dancer in 1881; she was a vice ballet master in 1894, and ballet master from 1922 to 1926. She composed the ballet "I Ungern" ("In Hungary") and the balett part for the opera "Brudköpet" ("Bride purchase"). Ellen Fries
Ellen Fries (23 September 1855 – 31 March 1900) was a Swedish feminist and writer. She became the first female Ph.D. in Sweden in 1883. She was also involved in founding several women's organizations. Biography She born in 1855 at Rödslegård in Törnsfall, Kalmar County, to Colonel Patrik Constantin Fries and Beata Maria Borgström. She studied at the Åhlinska flickskolan, and graduated with a professional degree from Wallinska skolan in Stockholm 19 May 1874. She studied language and art by travelling to Paris and Leipzig and was a language teacher at Wallinska skolan in 1875–1877. The universities in Sweden had been opened to both genders in 1870. Fries enlisted as a student at Uppsala University 12 October 1877. She studied history, Nordic language and political science and was given the scholarship Kraemerska stipendiet. Anna Branting
Anna Matilda Charlotta Branting (; 19 November 1855 – 11 December 1950), was a Swedish journalist and writer. She was a Social Democrat and married to Swedish prime minister Hjalmar Branting. From the 1880s to 1917, she was an influential theater critic in the Stockholm press under the pseudonym Réne. Life Anna Branting's parents were police inspector Erik Jäderin and Charlotta Gustava Holm. She married lieutenant and nobleman Gustav Vilhelm von Kraemer (1851–1884) in 1877, and divorced him in 1883. She married secondly to Hjalmar Branting in 1884. She had two children with her first husband, Vera and Henry von Kraemer, and two with her second, Georg Branting and Sonja Branting. Hilma Angered Strandberg
Elisabet Kristina Hilma Angered Strandberg (June 10, 1855 in Stockholm - January 23, 1927 in Meran), was a Swedish writer. She mostly wrote under the name Hilma Strandberg of the pseudonym, "Lilian". Life She was the daughter of Justice and member of the Swedish Academy Carl Gustaf beach Berg (1825–1874) and his wife Eva Helleday (1830–1869). She attended an ordinary school in Stockholm, but later took private lessons with EM Rappe in Småland. In 1876, she completed training as a telegraph operator and worked as such from 1883 to 1888 in Fjällbacka. During that time, she wrote alleged correspondence to a newspaper at which she was later employed. In 1886, she became a co-founder of the radical feminist women's paper ''Framåt'' ('Forward') of the Gothenburg's Women's Association alongside Mathilda Hedlund and Alma Åkermark. Hjalmar Lundbohm
Johan Olof Hjalmar Lundbohm (25 April 1855 – 4 April 1926) was a Swedish geologist and chemist and the first managing director of LKAB (''Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara Aktiebolag'') in Kiruna. He made a strong contribution to the design of the new community of Kiruna in Lapland. Biography Hjalmar Lundbohm was born in Ödeborg parish in Dalsland, Sweden. Lundbohm graduated in 1877 in technical chemistry and road and water construction at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg. Lundbohm was employed at the Swedish Geological Survey in 1879. The pillory is a device made of a wooden or metal framework erected on a post, with holes for securing the head and hands, formerly used for punishment by public humiliation and often further physical abuse. The pillory is related to the stocks.
