William Prince (Indiana)
William Prince (1772 – September 8, 1824) was a U.S. Representative from Indiana. Born in Ireland in 1772, Prince immigrated to the United States in 1796 and settled in Indiana. He studied law. He served as Commissioner for Gibson County, Indiana, and drew the winning lot to become the county seat's namesake in 1814. Prince served in the Indiana Territorial Council. He then served as territorial auditor. He served in the State senate in 1816. Prince also served as state circuit judge. He served as delegate to the State constitutional convention in 1816. He served as captain in the Battle of Tippecanoe. He served as member of the State house of representatives in 1821 and 1822. He was elected as a Democratic-Republican to the Eighteenth Congress and served from March 4, 1823, until his death near Princeton, Indiana, September 8, 1824. Ratliff Boon
Ratliff Boon (January 18, 1781 – November 20, 1844) was the second Governor of Indiana from September 12 to December 5, 1822, taking office following the resignation of Governor Jonathan Jennings' after his election to Congress. A prominent politician in the state, Boon was instrumental the formation of the state Democratic Party, and he supported President Andrew Jackson's policies during his six terms representing Indiana in the United States House of Representatives. Early life Background and education Ratliff Boon was born January 18, 1781, in Franklin County, North Carolina, the son of Jesse and Kessiah Boon. Jacob Call
Jacob Call (died April 20, 1826) was an American lawyer who briefly served as a U.S. representative from Indiana from 1824 to 1825. Biography Born in Kentucky, Call was graduated from an academy in Kentucky where he studied law. He was admitted to the bar and practiced in Vincennes and Princeton, Indiana. He served as judge of the Knox County Circuit Court, 1817, 1818, and 1822–1824. In 1820, Call represented the defendant in the case of Polly v. Lasselle, losing the case which led to all slaves in the state of Indiana being freed. Jonathan Jennings
Jonathan Jennings (March 27, 1784 – July 26, 1834) was the first governor of Indiana and a nine-term congressman from Indiana. Born in either Hunterdon County, New Jersey, or Rockbridge County, Virginia, he studied law before migrating to the Indiana Territory in 1806. Jennings initially intended to practice law, but took jobs as an assistant at the federal land office at Vincennes and assistant to the clerk of the territorial legislature to support himself and pursued interests in land speculation and politics. Jennings became involved in a dispute with the territorial governor, William Henry Harrison, that soon led him to enter politics and set the tone for his early political career. In 1808 Jennings moved to the eastern part of the Indiana Territory and settled near Charlestown, in Clark County.
