John Brown (Maryland Politician)
John Brown (died December 13, 1815) was an American Congressman from the seventh district of Maryland. Brown's birth date and location are unknown, but he served as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates from 1807 to 1808 and was elected as a Democratic-Republican to the Eleventh Congress in 1809. He was reelected to the Twelfth Congress, but resigned before the close of the Eleventh Congress to accept an appointment as clerk of the court of Queen Anne's County, Maryland, an office he held until his death in Centerville, Maryland. He is interred in Chesterfield Cemetery. Queen Anne's County is located on the Eastern Shore of the U.S. state of Maryland. As of the 2020 census, the population was 49,874. Its county seat and most populous municipality is Centreville. The census-designated place of Stevensville is the county's most populous place. The county is named for Queen Anne of Great Britain, who reigned when the county was established in 1706 during the colonial period. Queen Anne's County is included in the Baltimore-Columbia-Towson, MD Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the Washington-Baltimore-Arlington, DC-MD-VA-WV-PA Combined Statistical Area, and is the easternmost in both. The Chesapeake Bay Bridge connects Queen Anne County of the Eastern Shore to Anne Arundel County on the Western Shore. The American Discovery Trail runs through the county. Robert Wright (Maryland Politician)
Robert Wright (November 20, 1752September 7, 1826) was an American politician and a soldier who fought in the American Revolutionary War. Early life Wright was born at Narborough, near Chestertown, Maryland, and attended the Kent Free School (later Washington College) of Chestertown. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1773, and commenced practice in Chestertown. Career He served in the Maryland militia during the American Revolutionary War as private, lieutenant, and later as captain. After the war, he served as a member of the Maryland House of Delegates from 1784 to 1786, and as a member of the Maryland State Senate in 1801. In 1800, Wright was elected as a Democratic Republican to the United States Senate on November 19, 1801, for the term commencing March 4, 1801.
