General Ticket
The general ticket, also known as party block voting (PBV) or ticket voting, is a type of block voting in which voters opt for a party, or a team's set list of candidates, and the highest-polling party/team becomes the winner. Unless specifically altered, this electoral system (''at-large'' voting) results in the victorious political party receiving ''100%'' of the seats. Rarely used today, the general ticket is usually applied in more than one multi-member district, which theoretically allows regionally strong minority parties to win some seats, but the strongest party nationally still typically wins with a landslide. Clement Storer (September 20, 1760November 21, 1830) was a United States representative and Senator from New Hampshire. Born in Kennebunk in Massachusetts Bay's Province of Maine, he completed preparatory studies, studied medicine in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and in Europe, engaged in the practice of medicine in Portsmouth, and was captain of militia and held successive ranks to that of major general. Charles Cutts (January 31, 1769January 25, 1846) was an attorney and politician from New Hampshire. Among the offices in which he served were Speaker of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, United States Senator and Secretary of the United States Senate. Early life Cutts was born in Portsmouth on January 31, 1769, the son of Samuel Cutts and Anna Holyoke. He was educated in Portsmouth and Phillips Academy, Andover, MA, and attended Harvard University, from which he graduated in 1789. Peter Carleton (September 19, 1755 – April 29, 1828) was an American politician, a farmer, and a United States representative from New Hampshire. Early life Born in Haverhill in the Province of Massachusetts Bay, Carleton attended the public schools and engaged in agricultural pursuits. During the American Revolutionary War, he enlisted in January 1777 in Massachusetts, and served under Capt. John Blanchard and Col. James Wesson. He held the rank of Sergeant Major and served until December 31, 1779, when he was discharged at West Point, New York. During his service, he was in the battles of Bemis Heights and Stillwater.
