Johan Henric Kellgren
Johan Henrik Kellgren (1 December 1751 – 20 April 1795) was a Swedish poet and critic. Biography He was born at Floby in Västergötland (now part of Falköping Municipality, Västra Götaland County). He studied at the Royal Academy of Turku, and already had some reputation as a poet when he became a "docent" in aesthetics at the school in 1774. Three years later he moved to Stockholm, where in 1778 he began publishing the journal " Stockholms-Posten" with Assessor . Kellgren was sole editor from 1788 onwards. In 1779, he wrote a poem portraying the young and popular actress Ulrica Rosenblad's funeral, a verse quoted in the press. Kellgren was librarian to Gustavus III from 1780, and became his private secretary in 1785. At the establishment of the Swedish Academy in 1786 he was appointed one of its first members. Helena Malheim
Helena Malheim (1716–1795) was a Swedish midwife. She became a midwife in around 1751 and worked in Vänersborg. Life and career Malheim was born in 1716 in Uppland. Her father, Justus Andreas (1689-1731), was a field surgeon, and her mother, Helena Tolstadia, was the daughter of a clergyman. She lived with her mother and maternal grandparents while her father was on active service for King Karl XII until he returned in 1718. He then retired from the army and the family moved to S:t Johannesgatan 5, Uppsala, near the location of present day Uplands nation. Her mother died when she was 14 years old and her father died 10 months later. In 1739, she married Anders Ekström, an iron merchant, and they moved close to Uppsala Castle, near Trädgårdsgatan 5A. They had at least 9 children, the first of which was born in 1741. She trained to be a midwife around 1751 and became a municipal midwife in Vänersborg. Charlotta "Lotta" Fredrika Sparre (1719 – 20 December 1795, Stockholm), commonly named Lotta Sparre, was a Swedish noble and courtier. Life Early life Lotta Sparre was the daughter of Baron Fredrik Henrik Sparre and Virginia Christina Lilliehöök af Fårdala. She was introduced at court at the age of twelve, where she was appointed ''hovfröken'' (maid-of-honor) to queen Ulrika Eleonora of Sweden. Her beauty made her famous at the royal French court at Versailles, where she was known as “la charmante rose” when she stayed in France from 1739 to 1742 with her relative Ulla Sparre, the wife of Count Carl Gustaf Tessin. She also followed Tessin to Berlin, where Prince Augustus William of Prussia is reported to have fallen in love with her. Sofia Liljegren
Sofia Ulrika Liljegren, also known as ''Sofia Uttini'' (1765 – December 6, 1795), was a Swedish-Finnish soprano. She was likely the first professional opera singer from Finland, although she was active in Sweden. She was given the title '' hovsångerska''. Sofia Liljegren was born in Rantasalmi in Finland. In 1781, she was engaged at the choir of the Royal Swedish Opera in Stockholm. In 1783, she was the replacement of Elisabeth Olin in the main part of ''Iphigénie en Aulide'' by Gluck, after which she was recommended to Gustav III of Sweden as a soloist. She seem to have enjoyed a period of great popularity during the 1780s. Her perhaps most known part was Clytaimnestra in ''Elektra'' by Hæffner. She is often mentioned among the most notable names in the Swedish opera during the late 18th century. Christina Nyman known as Madam Nyman (1719–1795) was a Swedish brewer. She was a major figure in contemporary Stockholm business life and known as a benefactor of culture. Elis Schröderheim
Elis Schröderheim (26 March 1747, Stockholm – 30 August 1795), was a Swedish official, politician and a member of the Swedish Academy 1786-1795 (chair nr 12) as well as member nr 233 of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. He was an influential favorite of Gustav III of Sweden. He was married to the intellectual Anna Charlotta von Stapelmohr. He was the son of bishop Georg Claes Schröder and Margareta Elisabeth Elis. As was the custom, he was ennobled alongside his siblings for the sake of his father in 1759. From 1764, he pursued a career within civil service. He served as protocol secretary within the royal council 1773, first secretary within the civil office in 1775, Secretary of State in 1782-85, director of the custom service in 1785-91, and governor of Uppsala 1794-95.
