Barbara Pauli
Barbara Suzanne Pauli (1752 or 1753 – fl. 1780) was a Swedish fashion trader. She belonged to the most successful business entrepreneurs of Stockholm and described as the center figure of Stockholm fashion trade during the Gustavian age. Life Barbara Pauli was reportedly of French origin, daughter of the French court jeweler Pierre Pauli. In October 1775, she was given royal permission to open a fashion shop in Stockholm and manufacture, import and sell fashion items. She was at that point 22 or 23 years old and unmarried. Her trade permit was given by the crown, and was thereby in fact a dispensation over the objection of the head of the Silk- and Clothing Guild. It was common for women in Stockholm to be given a dispensation by the crown to manage a business. Rosa Scarlatti
Rosa Scarlatti (1727– 15 December 1775) was an Italian opera singer. She was the niece of Alessandro or Domenico Scarlatti and the sister of composer Giuseppe Scarlatti (1723-1777). She married composer Francesco Uttini in 1753, and became the mother of the ballet dancer Carlo Uttini. Rosa Scarlatti was active as an opera singer in Florence in 1747. Ulla Von Liewen
Ulrica "Ulla" Elisabeth von Liewen (24 February 1747, in Stockholm – 16 May 1775, in Uppsala), was a Swedish courtier and baroness. She was at one point the royal mistress of Adolf Frederick, King of Sweden and is known as the likely mother of Lolotte Forssberg. Ulla von Liewen was the daughter of the noble Carl Gustaf von Liewen and Ulrika Eleonora Ribbing af Zernava. She served as maid of honor to the queen of Sweden. Originally engaged to count Per Brahe, she was impregnated by the king and gave birth to a daughter. The queen was informed, and agreed to keep the matter a secret and care for the child. Ebba Wilhelmina Modée (1775–1840), was a Swedish noble and courtier, the love interest of king Gustav IV Adolf of Sweden. She was the daughter of Carl Wilhelm Modée and Ebba Ulrika Sparre af Söfdeborg. She was maid of honor to the Swedish princess Hedwig Elizabeth Charlotte of Holstein-Gottorp from 1794 to 1801, and accompanied her on her trip to Germany and Austria in 1798-99. In 1795, at the time of his engagement to Duchess Louise Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Gustav IV Adolf fell in love with her. He offered her to end his engagement, abdicate and elope with her to Bohemia. He also had a document of abdication set up, and was ready to make use of it. Torbern Bergman
Torbern Olaf (Olof) Bergman (''KVO'') (20 March 17358 July 1784) was a Swedish chemist and mineralogist noted for his 1775 ''Dissertation on Elective Attractions'', containing the largest chemical affinity tables ever published. Bergman was the first chemist to use the A, B, C, etc., system of notation for chemical species. Early life and education Torbern was born on 20 March 1735, the son of Barthold Bergman and Sara Hägg. He enrolled at the University of Uppsala at age 17. His father wished him to read either law or divinity, while he himself was anxious to study mathematics and natural science; in the effort to please both himself and his father, he overworked himself and harmed his health. During a period of enforced abstinence from study, he amused himself with field botany and entomology.
