The 16th Artillery Division() was a military formation of the People's Liberation Army of the People's Republic of China. The formation of the division started on November 9, 1969. On December 29, 1969, the activation was complete. The division was formally activated on February 15, 1970. The 63rd Group Army (), former 63rd Corps and 63rd Army Corps, was a military formation of China's People's Liberation Army existed from 1949 to 2003. Type 66 Howitzer
The Type 66 is a 152 mm towed howitzer used by the People's Liberation Army of China. The gun system is developed from the Soviet D-20 towed artillery. In addition to conventional shells the gun is capable of firing Type MP-152 Rocket-assisted projectiles. In some cases a gun-shield is fitted but this is not universal. The BM-14 (BM for ''Boyevaya Mashina'', 'combat vehicle'), is a Soviet-made 140mm multiple launch rocket system (MLRS), normally mounted on a truck. The 122mm D-74 towed gun is a Soviet-built gun. Developed in the late 1950s it provided direct and indirect fire for the Soviet Army. Today it is in reserve units with the Russian Army.
