Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber
Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber ( bapt. 12 August 1644, Stráž pod Ralskem – 3 May 1704, Salzburg) was a Bohemian-Austrian composer and violinist. Biber worked in Graz and Kroměříž before he illegally left his employer, Prince-Bishop Karl Liechtenstein-Kastelkorn, and settled in Salzburg. He remained there for the rest of his life, publishing much of his music but apparently seldom, if ever, giving concert tours. Biber was among the major composers for the violin in the history of the instrument. Giuseppe Maria Orlandini
Giuseppe Maria Orlandini (4 April 167624 October 1760) was an Italian Baroque music, baroque Musical composition, composer particularly known for his more than 40 operas and intermezzos. Highly regarded by music historians of his day like Francesco Saverio Quadrio, Jean-Benjamin de La Borde and Charles Burney, Orlandini, along with Antonio Vivaldi, Vivaldi, is considered one of the major creators of the new style of opera that dominated the second decade of the 18th century. Life Born in Florence,Note- It was previously thought that he was born earlier on 19 March 1675 but current research has proven he was born on 4 April 1676. It is most likely that the earlier date is referring to an older brother who had died before Orlandini was born. Giacomo Facco
Giacomo Facco (4 February 167616 February 1753) was an Italian Baroque violinist, Conducting, conductor and composer. One of the most famous Italian composers of his day, he was completely forgotten until 1962, when his work was discovered by composer, conductor, and musicologist Uberto Zanolli. Biography Facco was born in Campo San Martino, Marsango, a small settlement near Padua and Venice. For many years, he was a conductor in Italy. In 1705, he was employed in Palermo as choirmaster, teacher, and violin virtuoso to Carlo Antonio Spinola, Marquis of Los Balbases (the Viceroy of Sicily). In 1708, the viceroy transferred his residence to Messina, and Facco followed him. In Messina, he composed ''The Fight between Mercy and Incredulity''. In 1710, he presented in Messina Cathedral his work ''The Augury of Victories'', dedicated to King Felipe V. John Weldon (musician)
John Weldon (19 January 1676 – 7 May 1736) was an English composer. Life Born at Chichester in the south of England, he was educated at Eton, where he was a chorister, and later received musical instruction from Henry Purcell. By 1694 Weldon had been appointed organist of New College in Oxford and became well known in the musical life of that city, writing music for masques as well as performing his organist duties. Some believe he set Shakespeare's play '' The Tempest'' to music in 1695, although others attribute that to Henry Purcell. Weldon moved to London and in 1701 took part in a competition to set Congreve's libretto '' The Judgement of Paris'' to music. Perhaps surprisingly, Weldon's setting was chosen over contributions by his older, more experienced and better-known competitors, Daniel Purcell (younger brother of Henry), John Eccles and Godfrey Finger. Antonio Sartorio
Antonio Sartorio (1630 – 30 December 1680) was an Italian composer active mainly in Venice, Italy, and in Hanover, Germany. He was a leading composer of operas in his native Venice in the 1660s and 1670s and was also known for composing in other genres of vocal music. Between 1665 and 1675 he spent most of his time in Hanover, where he held the post of ''Kapellmeister'' to Duke Johann Friedrich of Brunswick-Lüneburg – returning frequently to Venice to compose operas for the Carnival. In 1676 he became vice ''maestro di capella'' at San Marco in Venice. Early work in Italy and work as ''Kapellmeister'' Sartorio was the brother of composer and organist Gasparo Sartorio and architect Girolamo Sartorio who also had connections with the theatre. Beyond birth records, the first known information about Sartorio relates to the mounting of his first opera, ''Gl'amori infruttuosi di Pirro'', at the Teatro di San Giovanni Grisostomo in Venice on 4 January 1661.
