Christen Aagaard
Christen Lauritsen Aagaard (27 or 28 January 1616, in Viborg, Denmark – 5 February 1664, in Ribe), was a Danish poet. He studied from 1635 to 1639 in Copenhagen. Since 1647 he was professor of poetry at the University of Copenhagen. In 1651 he became rector and in 1658 lecturer in theology at Ribe, in Jutland and also preacher at Vester-Vedsted. Among other Latin poems, he wrote ''Threni Hyperborei,'' amentations of the Northpublished, in folio, in 1648, on the death of Christian IV, King of Denmark. Several of his pieces are inserted in the first volume of Rostgaard's ''Deliciae Poëtarum Danorum'' (Copenhagen 1693). Christen Thomesen Sehested
Christen Thomesen Sehested (24 August 1664 – 13 September 1736) was a Danish Admiral. Biography Sehested was born in Copenhagen, Denmark-Norway. He was the son of lieutenant-colonel Axel Sehested (1627-1676) and grandson of nobleman Christen Thomesen Sehested (1590-1657) who served as the King's chancellor. In 1680, Sehested apprenticed in the Danish Royal Navy. He became the naval officer in 1687 and in 1691 had his first command on board the frigate "Svenske Falk" on a convoy to France. In 1700, he had command of the naval vessel "Prins Carl". During the Great Northern War, he served as an admiral under the command of Lord High Admiral Ulrik Christian Gyldenløve, Count of Samsø (1678–1719). In 1709 he served as Gyldenløve's flag captain during the troop transfer to Scania and participated in 1710 during the battle between the Dano-Norwegian and Swedish fleets at Køge Bugt. Jens Bircherod
Jens Bircherod (3 February 1664–25 January 1720) was a Danish theologian and priest. He served as a bishop of the Diocese of Christianssand from 1705 until his death in 1720. Personal life Jens Bircherod was born on 3 February 1664 in Copenhagen, Denmark. His parents were the priest Jens Jensen Bircherod and his first wife. He was married to Elen Dorthea Lemvig. Education and career He received a private education in Copenhagen finishing in 1679. In 1680, he received his baccalaureate degree. He then went on to travel to some foreign universities, returning home in 1688 and graduated with a magister's degree. In 1689, he was hired as the parish priest for Gladsaxe. In 1705, he was appointed to be the Bishop of the Diocese of Christianssand. Frederick III ( da, Frederik; 18 March 1609 – 9 February 1670) was King of Denmark and Norway from 1648 until his death in 1670. He also governed under the name Frederick II as diocesan administrator (colloquially referred to as prince-bishop) of the Prince-Bishopric of Verden (1623–29 and again 1634–44), and the Prince-Archbishopric of Bremen (1635–45). The second-eldest son of Christian IV and Anne Catherine of Brandenburg, Frederick was only considered an heir to the throne after the death of his older brother Prince Christian in 1647.
