The 13th Tank Division () was formed in Taian, Shandong province, on December 3, 1969, from the Independent Tank Regiment of Fuzhou Military Region, 3rd Independent Tank Regiment of Jinan Military Region. By then, the division was composed of: *49th Tank Regiment (former Independent Tank Regiment of Fuzhou Military Region); *50th Tank Regiment (former 2nd Independent Tank Regiment of Jinan Military Region); *51st Tank Regiment (former 3rd Independent Tank Regiment of Jinan Military Region). Pingdingshan
Pingdingshan (), also known as Eagle City ( zh, s=鹰城, p=Yīngchéng, t=鷹城), is a prefecture-level city in central Henan province, China. It had 4,904,701 inhabitants at the 2010 census whom 1,756,333 lived in the built-up (or metro) area including Ye county being conurbated. History In Chinese, Pingdingshan means “mountain with a flat top”. The city is named after a nearby plateau, the top of which is very flat. The reason for the nickname of the city "Eagle City" can be traced back to two thousand years ago during the "Spring and Autumn Annals". There was a small country royal named Ying who lived in Pingdingshan area. In ancient times, the word "Ying" had the same pronunciation as Eagle in Chinese, therefore people also called Pingdingshan "Eagle City". Tai'an () is a prefecture-level city in Western Shandong Province of the People's Republic of China. Type 59 Tank
The Type 59 (; industrial designation: WZ-120) main battle tank is a Chinese-produced version of the Soviet T-54A tank, an early model of the ubiquitous T-54/55 series. The first vehicles were produced in 1958 and it was accepted into service in 1959, with serial production beginning in 1963. Over 10,000 of the tanks were produced by the time production ended in 1985 with approximately 5,500 serving with the Chinese armed forces. The tank formed the backbone of the Chinese People's Liberation Army armoured units until the early 2000s, with an estimated 5,000 of the later Type 59-I and Type 59-II variants in service in 2002. Independent Division of Hubei Provincial Military District () was formed in September 1966 from the Public Security Contingent of Hubei province. The division was composed of six regiments (1st to 6th). The 20th Group Army is a military formation of the People's Liberation Army Ground Force, stationed in the Jinan Military Region. It consists of two manoeuvre brigades with other attached or otherwise organic units. For some time after its formation in 1949, the army consisted of three divisions. The 47th Group Army was a group army (corps-sized formation) of the People's Liberation Army It was stationed at Lintong District, Xi'an, Shaanxi as part of the Lanzhou Military Region. It was disbanded in 2016-17, during the Chinese military reforms which had begun two years earlier.
