10th Government Of Turkey
The 10th government of Turkey (11 November 1938 – 25 January 1939) was a short-term government in the history of Turkey. It is also called ''Second Bayar government''. Background Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the president and the founder of modern Turkey, died on 10 November. İsmet İnönü was elected as the new president, and consequently the 9th government of Turkey (First Bayar government) resigned. İnönü appointed Celal Bayar of the Republican People's Party (CHP) for the second time. Ali Rana Tarhan
Ali Rana Tarhan (1883 – 25 March 1956) was a Turkish politician, and a member of the Republican People's Party. Biography He was born in İstanbul in 1883. After graduating from Galatasaray High School, he travelled to Belgium and Germany to study communication (then known as ''PTT-profession''). He joined the Republican People's Party (CHP) and, in 1927 he was elected as an MP. In the 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th government of Turkey he was always the Minister of Customs and Trade between 1 March 1935– 26 May 1939. In 1939, he joined a group of MP s in the party to form a semi independent political group in the party which would act as an opposition. He was the acting speaker of the group. Thus he left his seat in the cabinet. After his party lost the elections in 1950 he served in the board of directors of İşbank. Ali Çetinkaya, also known as " Kel" Ali Bey (1878 – 21 February 1949) was an Ottoman-born Turkish army officer and politician, who served eight terms in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, including a period in 1939–40 as his country's first Minister of Transport. Saffet Arıkan (1888–1946) was a Turkish politician and former government minister. Biography He was born in Erzincan, Ottoman Empire. In 1910 he graduated from the Military Academy. After a brief service in Yemen, he was appointed to an office work in İstanbul. In 1915 he fought in the Battle of Gully Ravine (''Kerevizdere'') during the Dardanelles Campaign.
