Critical reception Jem Aswad of ''Variety'' praised the release for being part of Sault's history of innovative releases and characterizes different movements of the song as a " power-trio version of a Bob Marley song" followed by "a piano-led ballad... with a gorgeous soulful chorus" and ending in "a gentle acoustic song". In '' Paste'', Rosa Sofia Kaminski also notes the three-act structure and praises the release for having a "story is told so intimately that it feels like it happened to someone you know". Sault (band)
Sault (frequently stylised as SAULT) are a British music collective that make a mixture of Contemporary R&B, R&B, house music, house and disco. The project is helmed by producer Inflo, best known for his work with Little Simz, Michael Kiwanuka, Cleo Sol, Jungle (band), Jungle and Adele. Despite critical acclaim, Sault eschew interaction with the media and feature an array of unnamed collaborators. They have never played a live show, given an interview or released a music video in support of their music. They frequently foreground Black-centric issues. Since their emergence in 2019, the collective has released eleven studio albums, with ''5 (Sault album), 5'' (2019), ''7 (Sault album), 7'' (2019), ''Untitled (Black Is)'' (2020), ''Untitled (Rise)'' (2020), and ''Nine (Sault album), Nine'' (2021), being released between 2019 and 2021. Jack Peñate
Jack Peñate (; born 2 September 1984) is an English singer, songwriter, and musician. Early life Peñate was born in London on 2 September 1984, the son of an English mother and Spanish father. His maternal grandfather was author Mervyn Peake. He attended St. Olave's Preparatory School in New Eltham and Alleyn's School in Dulwich, then began studying for a bachelor's degree in Ancient World Studies at University College London, but dropped out at the end of the second year as interest from record labels grew. He also was a member of the National Youth Theatre. Career Music Peñate made his way up the ranks of the club and bar scene of London before he was signed by record label XL Recordings.
