''1.0'' is the debut studio album by Black Rain, released on July 25, 1995 by Fifth Colvmn Records. The album was originally intended to be used as the score for the 1995 film ''Johnny Mnemonic'' by Robert Longo. Reception Sonic Boom said "the music does a much better job of backing up the film than the actual soundtrack does" and said "regardless of whither or not you enjoyed ''Johnny Mnemonic'' I suggest you pick up this soundtrack." Black Rain (band)
Black Rain were an American electro-industrial group based out of New York City. It was formed in 1992 by musicians Stuart Argabright, Chaz Cardoza, Thom Furtado and Shinichi Shimokawa. They released two studio albums on Fifth Colvmn Records: '' 1.0'' (1995), ''Nanarchy'' (1996). The band released their third album ''Dark Pool'' on Blackest Ever Black in 2014. Franz Treichler
Francisco José Conceição Leitão Treichler (born 14 November 1961), better known as Franz Treichler, is a Swiss singer, songwriter, musician, composer and record producer. He is best known as the vocalist and sole consistent member of the Swiss industrial rock band The Young Gods, which he founded in 1985 with sampler player Cesare Pizzi and drummer Frank Bagnoud. Treichler was instrumental in the band's adoption of samplers as a main instrument. He released his solo debut album, ''Braindance'' in 2001. Early and private life Treichler was born on 14 November 1961 in Fribourg. His father is Brazilian and his mother is a German-speaking Swiss. Zalman Fishman
Fifth Colvmn Records was a record label based in Washington, DC. The label was founded in 1990 by Zalman Fishman, owner of the nightclub FIFTH COLVMN, located in Washington D.C. The label's first release was Chemlab's debut EP Ten Ton Pressure. Jared Hendrickson of Chemlab also became the general manager for the label. Chemlab later played several dates with Nine Inch Nails, eventually attracting a distribution deal for their next release, Burn Out at the Hydrogen Bar, with Metal Blade Records. The band Thud was the next artist to join the label. Heavy, loud and unrelenting, Thud became very popular amongst Metal fans and critics alike luring Eli Janney from Girls Against Boys to contribute to their debut record Life & Death and earning co-headling performances with Stone Temple Pilots.
