''$1,000 a Minute'' is a 1935 American comedy film directed by Aubrey Scotto and starring Roger Pryor and Leila Hyams. The film was released on October 22, 1935. Aubrey Scotto
Aubrey H. Scotto (August 21, 1895 – June 24, 1953) was an American film director, writer and film editor. Born in Los Angeles and active in films from 1929, Scotto graduated from directing short subjects to Republic Pictures features in 1933. Personal life In January 1941, Scotto was one of several men named in divorce proceedings, accused of "committing improper acts" with Marion Talley. He had directed her in the 1936 film ''Follow Your Heart (1936 film), Follow Your Heart''. Scotto was married at the time to Florida socialite Natalie H. Scotto, but his relationship with Talley was cited in the divorce suit against him in March 1941. By October 1948, he had been married four times. William Austin (actor)
William Crosby Percy Austin (12 June 1884 – 15 June 1975) was an English character actor. He was the first actor to play Alfred in a Batman adaptation. Early years William Austin was born in Georgetown in British Guiana. His parents were Charles Percy Austin and Rosalie Ann Sarah Austin. On the death of his father, he was brought to the United Kingdom to complete his education. He was the brother of actor Albert Austin. Austin attended Reading College in England and gained theatrical experience via Little Theatre and Drama Shop plays. Career Austin filled a business post in Shanghai and on being sent to San Francisco by the company he worked for, he decided to stay in America and take up acting on the stage and later in films. Andre David Sennwald (August 4, 1907 – January 12, 1936) was a motion picture critic for ''The New York Times''. Life After graduating from Columbia University School of Journalism, Sennwald was hired as a reporter for ''The New York Times'' in 1930. As the film critic Mordaunt Hall gave up his post in October 1934, Sennwald became his successor. He lived at 670 West End Avenue, Upper West Side. He was married to the former Yvonne Beaudry. He died on January 12, 1936, as a result of gas poisoning before his penthouse apartment exploded because of a gas leak. The explosion wrecked the penthouse and the top three floors of the 17-story building. Sennwald had an appointment with his ex-wife Yvonne Beaudray and did not appear, which is why she went to see him, only to find him dead in the ruins of his home. Claude Ewart King (15 January 1875 – 18 September 1941) was an English-born character actor and unionist, who appeared in American silent film. With his distinctive wavy hair, King appeared on both stage and screen. He served his country, Great Britain, in World War I in Field Artillery, reaching the rank of Major and surviving the war. He began his stage career in his native country, before emigrating to the US. In 1919, he appeared on Broadway in support of Ethel Barrymore in the play ''Declassee''. Film After gravitating to silent films, King had a key role in Tod Browning's lost silent masterpiece '' London After Midnight'' (1927), starring alongside Lon Chaney.
